9 Essential Steps to Self-Acceptance
When It All Clicked and You Took Your Power Back

You have been in the same situation for a while now, and it's time to get your groove back. All of your motivation is drying up, and you're losing focus on what's in front of you. You aren't the same you anymore, and it's time for an intervention. This sounds all too familiar, right? Keep reading for some key pointers to letting your inner light shine through.
Realize there is nothing to find because you're not lost.
There's this misconception that we're lost, and there's a life long quest to find our true self. Once you come to terms to know you're already full, you have done half of the work. You're born with so much purpose, and absolutely no one can take that away from you. You're enough, you can contribute, and you're needed.
Self-Acceptance
Coming to terms with yourself may be very difficult. Naturally, it's easier to tear ourselves down rather than build ourselves up. The key ingredient of self-awareness is self-acceptance. When we are constantly overwhelmed with our insecurities and faults, we draw ourselves further away from peace. The goal is to make peace with yourself, have clarity of who you are, and from that, you seek happiness.
Forgive yourself.
Stop judging yourself so harshly. You're human and allowed to make mistakes and poor choices. It happens to the best of us. However, are you flexible enough to let go and move forward? Many of us aren't. Forgiveness is accepting the fact you're perfectly imperfect, and you're responsible for your actions, and ready for peace of mind.
Taking Action
Now that you have taken the time to unpack, accept, forgive, and come to terms with who you are, it's time to take action. Accepting yourself, loving yourself, and forgiving yourself is a lifestyle. Implement these core foundations into your everyday life and start becoming accountable.
Daily Check-Ins
Don't be afraid to take time for yourself and do a mental, physical, and emotional check-in. The goal is to become self-aware to be able to take your control back. Daily check-ins can consist of journaling, meditation, and physical activity. Whatever brings you back to self, do that. This is rewarding because you're taking the time to be vulnerable and open up to different parts of yourself.
Find a hobby.
Finding an enjoyable hobby has so many positive benefits. Such as, you can find peace within this activity when things get overwhelming, you can gain a sense of purpose and happiness. Involving yourself in positive outlets reduces stress, builds character, drive, and keeps your ambitions flowing.
Know your power.
This is the empowering part. Reminding yourself who you are and the qualities that you have that make you into this incredibly strong being is freedom. Remind yourself that you're resilient, hard-working, kind, optimistic, smart and anything is obtainable. One exercise I recommend is creating a list of five to 10 characteristics and strengths, and making it a daily ritual to tell yourself every morning or night. You may feel a little uncomfortable at first, and it will take a while to believe what you're telling yourself, however, don't be discouraged. In due time, you will walk confidently in positive affirmations.
The Seed You Plant
The seed you plant and water will be the growth to your outcome. Ensure you're planting and watering positivity, affirmations, and truth. Ultimately, this will become your reality. You're in charge of what you plant, grow, and harvest.
Enjoy life.
Most of all, enjoy life. Life is too short to be at war with yourself. Remove yourself from stigmas and societal expectations. You're a unique individual with a unique journey. You're full of purpose, and you're called to something great. Everything that you are is contributing to exactly where you're going. Slow down the pace, and be intentional with your words, your actions, and your energy. Focus on being present and emit gratitude.
