Won't You Indulge in Wild Daffodil's Spiritual Cleansing?

Happy Monday, and welcome to the April 21 edition of my Monday Morning Huddle. Today's topic is the wild daffodil and its many splendid spiritual meanings. From hope and new beginnings to my favored spiritual cleanse, won't you indulge with me in the beauty of the bright yellow trumpeteers calling for your attention?

"They flash upon that inward eye"

A line from William Wordsworth's poem "I Wandered Lonely as a Cloud (AKA Daffodils)" speaks to remembering or visualizing an experience. It's a beautiful testament to the restorative power of nature and the recollection of fond memories.

Wild daffodils are like a grounded sun, telling us to remember childhood, the little girl or boy in each of us still running wild and free through the tall grass.

Photographed in my neighborhood community garden, only a stone's throw from my home, the daffodils are the only flowers growing in the otherwise barren garden. The delightful yellow tubers popped up only days ago, like sunshine dashing out behind a storm cloud. They put the smile on April showers and the flowers yet to bloom, their comrades in May.

Although the wild ones' flowering often proves uncertain, much like April's weather and life itself, they invoke a sense of hope with their yellow but never fearful petals capable of pushing through the soil even during snow.

A reminder: no matter what storm blows one's way, hope always rides on its coattail in the form of a subtle breeze.

Spring's early bloomers also mark seasonal transition, paralleling the transformative nature of our lives.

A reminder: nothing grows from stagnation or an idle approach

Other noteworthy spiritual symbolisms include: joy, forgiveness, renewal, resurrection, luck, and spiritual awakening.

My favorite wild daffodil's meaning alludes to spiritual cleansing.

A spiritual cleansing or detox involves releasing lower energy from one's aura through rituals or practices like meditation, journaling, and yoga. It reunites or harmonizes the mind, body, and soul, ridding one of negative thoughts, feelings, and vibrations clinging to the spirit, and resets your energy field with a clean slate, as I like to call it.

All humans will benefit from a spiritual cleanse at one time or another, more accurately, multiple times in a lifetime, as we are physical shells housing spirit. Although we are spiritual beings living in flesh, mankind-focused matters often drain us of our energy source, diverting us from our soul's purpose to the overindulgence in material things.

Yellow relates to enlightenment, joy, happiness, and optimism, and in some customs, to divine revelation and God's presence.

Yellow is also linked to the Solar Plexus (Third) chakra and the organs of the stomach, liver, gall-bladder, pancreas, and a network of nerves called the solar plexus, located in the abdomen.

Envisioning yellow during meditation can help produce feelings of joy, but a firsthand encounter with wild daffodils, admiring their bright cheery appeal, will leave the onlooker with a glow sure to carry within their heart and spirit for a time to come.

Allow nature's nurture a chance to work her wonders and do not miss the chance to let your mind run wild and free while in the presence of a flower I equate to a soil based sun.

Early Spring marks a much-welcomed return to many. Warmer weather, outdoor activities, and the resurfacing of vibrant colored backdrops, fresh green, with all the sights, sounds, and effects of fun-filled days to come. Wild daffodils remind us to stop and take notice not only of their undeniable golden glory, but of oneself on a more intimate level.

Life is fleeting and certainly uncertain, but no matter how tough things get, there is something better waiting on the other end.

The wild daffodils know it; they want you to know it, too.

Pay them a visit: stop, feel their warmth, recall a fond memory, and restore that feeling in the present.

Beautifully written, Marilyn. 💛 Spiritual cleansing? Sounds like one heck of a flower. I love the language of flowers; I think we need more. Though I'm super forgetful and muddle them up a lot, lol. 😊
