Mirror Dragon Weekly Reading #1 2020
The Center card this week is the 3 of Cups. This three symbolizes friendship, connection, comfort and the abundance we find in enjoying the good things we have in our lives from the simplest glimpse of a bright star, on an otherwise cloudy night to the kiss of a puppy with a warm wet tongue or the brilliance of pride in a child’s first steps, we are acutely aware of the beauty and bounty that surrounds us. When we revel in the pleasure of easy conversation, and the comfortable closeness of an old friendship or a strong emotional bond we find a matching comfort in the freedom to just be ourselves. I read once that a friend who sees you in distress says, “I feel for you” a good friend sees you in distress and asks, “is there anything I can do for you?” and a best friend sees clearly what’s going on and says, “stay down, I got this!” With this three at the center we have that feeling of camaraderie we experience when we know there's someone who’s got our back and the strength to know we can be that best friend if the need arises.

Mirror Dragon Tarot (part 18)
The Center card this week is the 2 of Swords. This two looks at our ability to unite the heart and mind in balance and harmony. Having aired, discussed, or at least acknowledged, the differences we encounter between our own thoughts and viewpoints and those of the people around us we find ourselves more able to understand and accept the input of others. Recently we’ve become aware of our power to create what we imagine. We see that our thoughts and choices do become our reality and now we’re dealing with what we chose. As is often the case, the left-brain, linear mind wants to hold on to tried and true, logical progression and outcome, no matter what anyone else thinks. With this influence, however by attuning to our softer, gentler heart/soul connection we find a way to balance both. As the lotus in the center of this card shows our ability to create that bridge between reason and understanding, so too can we balance intellect and compassion in our daily interactions. The trick is to meet in the middle.

Mirror Dragon Tarot -Week 17-
What an interesting confluence of cards. This week we have two of the three Magicians that have been included with this version of the Thoth deck. The three Magi are just one of the reasons I love the Thoth system. They’re not available with every version of the deck printed and I was lucky enough to get one of them as my first Aleister Crowley deck so now the two extras are like old friends who pop in unexpectedly and broaden the conversation with their extra wisdom.

Healing Hands
The History of Reiki: Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. This technique is administered by a Reiki practitioner laying hands on the patient and is based on the idea that an unseen life force energy flows through us, and is what causes us to be stress-free, happy and healthy. If life force energy is low, then sickness is more likely to occur, as well as stress, and unhappiness. However, when having a high life force energy than more positive outcomes occur.

Mirror Dragon Tarot Part 16
Reading for 12-9- thru 12-15-19 The Center card this week is The Devil. With this card at the center, we will likely be faced with aspects of ourselves that we generally do our best to hide. On an astrological note, Chiron, which has been in retrograde since July 6th 2018, goes direct on December 12th. When planets go through major directional shifts - like retrograde movement - their influence becomes stronger as they shift. The planet Chiron represents the archetype of the wounded healer. We all have wounds and to the degree that we can face and accept them we can intentionally heal them. Therein lies the challenge, to heal them we have to acknowledge them. The Devil, as undesirable and shame inducing as he can be, can easily put us in a position to meet our “dark side” face to face. With our old wounds up at the surface along with all the emotions that go with them, we’re in a perfect position to look the painful past in the face and make a final decision to heal and forgive. While we work to maintain the walls and dark corners where we hide our fears and pain, that pain is allowed to fester and grow. Then when we pull up the courage to rip away the walls and bring in some light to address the damage beneath, we get the chance to see what’s there at the core. In this way we can see what we’re dealing with and decide on a course of action. Finding forgiveness in yourself here is key. As we begin the healing process, it’s important to remember to focus on not only those involved in sparking the pain in the first place but - more importantly - ourselves. When we come to the resolution that we no longer choose to hide or cover the hurts we often feel ashamed of - whether we feel that we should have been stronger or smarter than to allow them to happen or not - we can see them clearly. It is then that we realize that those things that seemed so terrible have become beasts without teeth. When we recognize that the chains we thought would hold us forever are not locked. We can see the way out. The fact that the exit was always there but eluded us becomes clear.

Mirror Dragon Tarot Part 15
Reading for 12-2- thru 12-8-19 The Center card this week is the Hierophant. The Hierophant (High Priest) represents the journey we undertake as we look for ways to define our relationship to God, Universe, Spirit, Oneness, whatever form that takes in our individual experiences. It has been shown throughout history, in all cultures and from a myriad of different viewpoints that we humans have a deep knowing that there’s something beyond our day to day “mundane” lives. We just know there’s more to being alive than that. We have an unshakable feeling that we’re here for a reason. That knowing draws us to find clear and meaningful ways of sharing these compelling feelings of connectedness. The difficulty arises when we try to impose intellectual definition to concepts that defy description. In assigning words or rules to these ideas we inevitably restrict them and therein lies the challenge. In the Tarot, The High Priestess reflects the mysteries of the Universe, and the Hierophant our need to bring them into some kind of language that we can use to share the experience. How can we share our insight into Spirit without caging it in words or the linear representations our cognitive brains need? Perhaps by recognizing that if the physical representation of our experience is sometimes lacking the true vibrance we felt, we might acknowledge ways other than words to express our awareness.

Mirror Dragon Tarot Part 14
The Center card this week is the Aeon This card is one in the Thoth deck that differs quite a bit from the more popular Ryder Waite Smith system. Though it is similar in definition to the RWS card Judgement the symbolism steps away from the Christian paradigm and includes older symbolism which recognizes continuing multiple lifetimes. I see the Aeon card as a prompt to nudge our left-brain, cognitive mind to recognize the decisions and choices we make as they grow, and allow our experience to be born anew in any given moment. This pushes us to renew our intent on a continuing basis and, in this way, opens avenues for change we may not have noticed without the renewed interest. As the Death card reflects the cycle of rebirth from old to new and back again, I see the Aeon as a card of new birth. It highlights the constant changes we encounter as we move along the path of human, physical existence. As humans, we’re never static, there is constant movement, and the Aeon triggers us to see those changes as new birth and to take the action needed to accept the lessons we’ve been offered.

Astral Projection and Astral Travel
Hello New Age Thinkers, welcome back to another edition of the New Age Thoughts blog! Today we’re going to be covering an extremely exciting topic; Astral projection. This is something that is of extreme interest in the spiritual community. Many questions that I've seen, been asked, and I have asked are, "Is astral projection the same thing as an out of body experience? Can I die? Is it safe? Can anyone do it?" With all of that being said, we're going to dive right in and discuss details about what projection is, who can do it then, but I’m gonna answer his questions and I seem to be very common so just dive right in.
