Mirror Dragon Tarot (part 18)
Reading for 12-23 thru 12-29-19

The Center card this week is the 2 of Swords.
This two looks at our ability to unite the heart and mind in balance and harmony. Having aired, discussed, or at least acknowledged, the differences we encounter between our own thoughts and viewpoints and those of the people around us we find ourselves more able to understand and accept the input of others. Recently we’ve become aware of our power to create what we imagine. We see that our thoughts and choices do become our reality and now we’re dealing with what we chose. As is often the case, the left-brain, linear mind wants to hold on to tried and true, logical progression and outcome, no matter what anyone else thinks. With this influence, however by attuning to our softer, gentler heart/soul connection we find a way to balance both. As the lotus in the center of this card shows our ability to create that bridge between reason and understanding, so too can we balance intellect and compassion in our daily interactions. The trick is to meet in the middle.
The West card is the Chariot.
With the determination and willpower we’ve realized by accepting that we truly are powerful manifesting masters, the afterburners are lit and the throttle is cranked to full. We’re rocketing ahead, damn the torpedoes. Now that the decisions we made have brought pieces together so they can fall quickly into place barriers drop, constrictions release and dissenting voices quiet. - Or maybe they’re just drowned out by the roar of the engines. - This accelerated forward movement can feel like a frightening out-of-control thrill ride but staying focused on the goal ahead can go a long way to shifting feelings of fear to feelings of excitement. In fact, physiologically fear and excitement have the same effect on the body; increased heart rate and breathing, sharpened focus. Senses are heightened and we’re acutely aware of what’s going on around us. Since we’re on this ride it may be best to hold on and enjoy rather than fight it.
The East card is The Lovers
The Lovers is a card of true partnership. It speaks of the ability to communicate honestly on all levels, from the basest to the purest and everything in between. In opening to love we lay ourselves bare and vulnerable to whatever comes with perfect honesty and acceptance. As we look at what it means to love, I think it’s important to realize that the greatest and most imperative love relationship we can have is with Self. Yes, it’s important to love others and do our best to accept them as they are. However, if we’ve not come to that same acceptance with the person we are, inside and out, our experience of giving “love” can become more about doing things to get the love we’re missing in ourselves from other people. From there it can easily become a “race to the prize” where the more we do things to please someone else hoping they’ll fill the gaps in our Self, the less we have that is ours to give. If we find that completion inside our own heart, we no longer need to seek it. The fear and need is diminished. When we get to that point, then we can choose friends and partners just because we want to. The Lovers isn’t just about romantic love relationships, but all relationships. To the degree we can be an excellent partner to our Self we no longer have to take what we need from someone else. When partnership shifts from I need you to I love you that transition swaps the focus from taking to giving. In some cultures there are sayings like “I see you” or Namaste which means I bow to the divine in you. In those greetings is the acknowledgement of mastery in each person.
In conclusion;
As the 2 at the center shows us we’re in a time of acknowledging and uniting our thoughts and plans with our compassion for Self and those around us. This has us feeling intellectually clear and also positive about the choices we’ve made. We feel like we’ve made good decisions. The decisions themselves may have been tough but it’s likely that the outcomes will be good ones. The Chariot and the Lovers both ask us to be aware of the partnerships we have around us and the ways they enhance or interfere with our direction. There are things in motion that may have us feeling like we need seat belts or crash helmets but it is by our own hand those things are moving. As we combine our logic and understanding that partnership shows just how dynamic we can be. Please remember to be kind to Self this week, you are the master, the plan is unfolding, you deserve all the good things you want in life.
Have a spirited week!
Light,
Tory
