Healthy at My Size
I’ve written previously on the extremely delicate issue of Thin Privilege. Well, I didn’t get too much hate for that, so I’m giving it another go! In the news recently, we heard that Gigi Hadid had received comments about her being “too thin.” In her response to the haters, she revealed that she’s undergone a noticeable change in weight due to treatment for a thyroid condition. She shouldn’t have had to justify her existence in the first place, let alone divulge personal medical information, but I suppose it’s done something to educate the public about the condition. Most younger people won’t know that much about it, as it doesn’t tend to affect young people.

Turning Down the Near Sound
I knew how important it was for me growing up to develop familiarity with silence. I spent hours and hours in nature, in silence, listening outwardly and inwardly, or imitating sounds. I grew to appreciate space, physically and mentally, as I practiced stilling my thoughts completely. I found that if I stopped thinking completely, the animals around me didn’t notice me. I figured at the time that I had turned invisible to them. Now I realize that I was temporarily dissolving my ego by suspending myself in what mystics call the Present Moment.

Sugar Addiction
Cravings are hard to deal with. Sugar craving is quite common for many people, not just type 1 diabetics. Alcohol is similar to sugar as it is a fermented form of sugar. Alcoholics are also sugar junkies. One way of curbing a sugar craving is to drink water or broth made of chicken or beef. Sugar cravings can go away eventually, in particular, if you know you have had enough. If water can help release a sugar craving, it is because you were just thirsty. Also, sugar cravings can be helped with eating more meat if you are not vegetarian.

My Friend Jess: Jessica Roscoe's Tale of Triumph
What if I told you that there was a girl who, through the tumultuous love affair of despair and hope, transformed into an enigmatic treasure trove of a woman? Who inspired ceaselessly, who stunned gracefully, and whose gravitational pull was so strong, people would find themselves lost in the light she radiated. That light would pull them in by the hand as if to guide a friend to a new adventure that would forever be imprinted in their memory.

Vaping, It's a Life Saver
I used to smoke. A lot. I was up to a pack a day, sometimes a pack and a half. This added up very quickly at $7 a pack. My husband and I had kicked around the idea of vaping for a while now. But the initial purchase is usually the most expensive. We opted to get the Smok V8 sticks, as they were easy to use and maintain. Than we got our juices. He started out at a 3mg nicotine level, and I a 6mg level. Considering the average cigarette has 18mg of nicotine in it, I figured 6 was an ok level to begin with. We had vaped on these for a few months, trying different flavors of juices. It's amazing how many there are. And to think that we're getting our nicotine fixes without all the extra chemicals that are added. I had done all the research online, and am learning more about it every day. There's more studies out now that show that vaping is much more healthier than smoking. And even though there's varying studies on the long term effects, most sites say there isn't enough data yet to determine if there's any harmful effects.

How To Deal with Tinnitus
For the past twenty years or so, I have suffered from Tinnitus. This constant ringing in my right ear is part of my day. I can hear it when I wake up and it does not stop until I am sound asleep at night. Just trying to get to sleep is a great feat because of it.

Spirituality
The world is filled with so many different religions and they all claim to be the only path to save your soul. Just the mere thought of that is very intimidating. Trying to choose which path is the one for our spiritual salvation is even scarier. The simple choices we face in our everyday lives, such as trying to find something to eat can be extremely complicated. To simplify it for ourselves we ask a series of questions, “do I want fast food, pizza, or should I cook at home?” When we struggle with a choice so simple such a food, why would choosing a religion be simple? We don’t have the same simple questions to ask ourselves because each religion varies tremendously. With all of that being said. You should take some comfort that you are not alone. There are millions of people who have no idea where to place their faith.

Autism Does Not a Killer Make
In a million years, I did not think I would have to start another bloggy message about mental health, other than Autism information. Yet, here I am. Why? Because we have had another shooting. Worse yet, a school shooting. The politicians are asking for gun control. The students, God bless them, want gun control. Those who are connecting the dots in all these horrible crimes, however, are seeing another issue, mental health.
