Patience is the Key
A morning cup of Joe is essential for starting any day off right. It’s hard for me to stop at one. If one works well, wouldn’t two work even better? Plus I like the taste. Over caffeinating myself for years gave me the false belief that I could get more done in less time, burn the candle so to speak at both ends, work hard, play hard and not have to suffer consequences. The worst thing about overcaffeinating myself is that it tends to make me impatient, even anxious.

The Overwhelming Freedom of No Alarms, No Schedules, and My Resolution to Enjoy It
We all know it, and most of us hate it. Even if we escape it as children, eventually we grow up,\and have to succumb to it. That blaring, garish, screaming drill sergeant that sits next to our beds. Some call it an alarm clock. I call it heinous, a rude assault on all that is good in this life.

An Exercise in Integration
While standing, place your feel hip width apart, turn your toes in until your feet are parallel, it will feel slightly pigeon toed (very pigeon toed to me!). Raise your knee caps, tighten your thighs, pull your navel to your to your spine, lengthening your lower back. Raise your shoulders, press them to the wall behind you and lower your shoulder blades onto the back of your rib cage. Externally rotate your arms so that your palms hint forward. Keeping your chin parallel with the floor, slightly move your head toward the wall behind you and lift through the top of your head. Relax your jaw. TaDa Sena!!

I Walk
I’ve been called brave, ambious, and gung ho by friends, family and overly curious strangers at the supermarket. I feel as though I’m none of these things. I’m on the brink of 30, with a dwindling bank account, and fewer and fewer jobs prospects living in a foreign country in the middle of a pandemic. Maybe that’s bravery? That precarious line between being stubborn enough to go through with plans no matter the hurdles while being stupid enough to close your eyes and plug your ears when common sense screams “This is a mistake!”.

The power of connection
I once would have described myself as a quiet, awkward introvert. If I had a magic crystal ball, Younger Me would not be able to deal with the difference of who I was then and who I am now, for many, many different reasons. How I could flourish and grow and take up more space being me, and how these things will also help me find more of my people.

Encouraging the Elevation of Wellness
As we enter this new year following the woes of the year passed, I think it's important to consider what really promotes wellness for each of us individually. As I see it, each of us truly live in alternate realities. Now, one might argue against this and propose that we all live in the same reality, but I'm suggesting that our personal realities are based on more than our outer conditions. You and another person, for instance, may both be in a pitch black, soundless room, but does your reality, your total experience of that room, not differ from that of the other person based on your internal perception of what occurs in your mind and body in that moment? You might be comfortable; they may feel unnerved. Objectively, it's simple: you both are simply in a room without external stimuli, but, subjectively, the potential difference of internal circumstances strikes me as two unique individuals experiencing different realities at the same time. I often see others being primarily affected by the events going on around them, and, depending upon what those occurrences are, that experience of life can range anywhere from very favorable to very miserable. My point is that, upon reflecting this past year and even my whole life up to now, it's becoming increasingly prudent to pay just as much, if not more, attention to what is going on within myself if I'm to experience a more enjoyable reality, and the intent of what I'm writing here is to inform anyone reading of what my reality consists of on a daily basis in my endeavor to reach for a more enjoyable existence in this perpetual flow of countless experienced moments.

Mantras for a Fresh Start in 2021
Since last year, 2020 I’ve been on a spiritual journey. I felt the need to break free from a decade of living my life for other people. Now that 2021 is here and the vision that came to light back in 2020 has allowed me to get to know myself all over again, but in a different perspective. Because I’m into Astrology heavily, I started getting in tune with my natal chart and started to realize certain things for what they were. What I mean is that, I took accountability and faced all my problems – childhood trauma, family conflicts, as well as toxic friendships/relationships. On my spiritual journey I learned for sure that not everyone is meant to have access to me. Although, within myself I’m a very generous, yet understanding person and like to be some form of help to individuals who lack friends or family who they can vent to.

Kintsugi
I haven’t set a resolution in years, at least not in the traditional sense. I don’t do Dry January, set ‘challenge’ goals, or do couch to 5k…mostly because none of it is something I particularly care about. However, the reality of it is I drink very little and I hate to run and challenges always seem like a nightmare of second guessing and recrimination.
