THE FACADE OF LEADERSHIP

Real service

Façade

A leader, like every other work, offers something (a good or service) to another person or community. The success of the leader depends on the excellent delivery of what he or she offers. Successful leaders are, thus, celebrated everywhere, even in the intimacy of the bedroom by men, women and children from all strata of the society. But the shame of their failure is a discussion borne by people who are busybodies.

In our day, leaders in diverse fields have forgotten their work and have invested loads of energy, time and endless resources on the vanity of ambition; building their estate on vain glory, resident in the coveted praise of man and some change (cash). Even they know not what is real any longer; the reason for the weak and inadequate systems that govern nations, which can be clearly observed from their struggling institutions.

A careful gaze at the men and women who run affairs would be an exposé to you on how superficial their laughter can be. They are taught not to express their emotions, and are more or less stoic, preferring the opinions of others over what they actually see themselves to be and their actions to mean. Before you, they seem to have a clearly mapped pathway, empowered by a clear-as-glass vision, nevertheless, their persistent avoidance to address the inconsistency within their work, fosters their excessive use of mascarade to cover the challenges. They never addressing these issues, stand as a contrary force to anyone who dares to, and they would throw their best shots in order to protect their delicate ego. At the end the leaders and their leadership are altogether a well decorated grave; as all that lies within has lost it's excellency.

Leadership is reality; dish out what you came to offer and permit yourself to grow as you give. Being given the opportunity to lead doesn't mean you have reached the pinacle of life, rather it indicates that you have entered a new growth phase. Pull off your mask, or should I say, cocoon, so you can breathe and grow. It might be a faith challenge or money challenge or what else you have, if you do not acknowledge it and deal with it, those you lead would struggle with great fright, because what you've shown them has no substance to make them overcome because you haven't known the key to overcome. Yea, they will be tormented and frustrated, and it would surely come around.

Have a teachable spirit and rise in your leadership. Serve the real deal, and throw the pretends, they can't help you and neither will they your flock.

FYI: I love sharing my observations on leadership and other life issues that are often neglected. Your thoughts are much welcome.
