Sarah Cooper Returns!
Say Anything...please...
It has been at least one month since that individual in that nation to the south took the oath of office and much of the respect and honour earned by other presidents over many years. It has not been the most pleasant time of the year to consider all those jobs lost, the arrests made, the idiotic comments made, and the future plans that will disrupt trade, business, and make life much harder for those of us who thought we could surf above the nonsense we knew was coming our way.
And today, after working online, submitting other projects for other contests and trying to set up plans for my other work, I discovered my favourite ventriloquist is back in the spotlight!
Sarah Cooper, a product of West-Indian parentage who made the first term of you-know-who slightly more bearable, is now back with a single-person podcast where she is allowing herself to get into all of the nonsense and insanity of our times in her own voice. And three episodes in, I am once again hooked!
It seems as though she needed this to be just her own show. The first three episodes I have listened to and watched proves that there was a lot on her mind that could not come out by just mouthing the nonsense he spewed into the newscycle. But I do think that this is something she will have to work on. One problem that I have often had with podcasts is that there is often a disconnect between the audience they want to reach and the audience that they get. What I mean is, I have found myself giving my time to pages online that I thought would be engaging and interesting, and I gave up on them after just a few episodes. With Ms. Cooper, I am prepared to give her a chance to draw us all in...but maybe with a partner?
One other thing: that set. All that grey and white really does not draw the eye in; instead, I was shifting pages on my laptop and checking out the weather report for the week (quite grueling for a Canadian). And when I watched a recent episode and looked beyond into those windows, it felt very...surreal (or is that just AI?). Very odd...
Okay, now I am making it sound like there is nothing about this podcast that I enjoyed. Well, no. I did enjoy hearing your secondhand voicings of more of his insanity, your opinions on the criticisms you have received on this new venture, and your mother's feelings about the election...and the Super Bowl (West Indians sound like no one else, do they?). And remember, I did not approach this as just a podcast. I was watching videos and that matters. The YouTube page includes all of the clips that made her famous and includes many updates on the insanity of our age and hopefully, it will be a great beacon for those of us who wonder what the next eight...sorry, four...years will bring.
Okay, Sarah, I will be linking and sharing your work with anyone willing to click on this page and remember your sharp take on our current insanity. Canada just took the US to the cleaners in a hockey tournament, and we are still booing your anthem, and modifying ours to make a statement, but that hate does not extend to you and your efforts. Anyone who can make us laugh and think of where we have come from and where we are heading should be valued and praised.
Keep it up, Ms. Cooper!

Hey, laughter is the best medicine hehehe. I've not heard of her but I'll check her out
Got to be honest, I hadn’t heard of her but I’ll check her out. I am weary and it’s only been just over a month. Tired of the bullying, the lies and the hate. Some of the things that have been happening you couldn’t make up. Great article Kendall.
Intelligent, beautiful & funny. I get it, though I don't know that I could spend so much time listening to the felon's voice even with her mocking him so beautifully.
Haha you mentioned hockey game. I had not heard of her
