humanity
For better or for worse, relationships reveal the core of the human condition.
THE BEST THING
1967 As 17 year old Leda stood in the humid air, waiting for the bus that was going to change her life forever, she felt a number of things. She felt uncomfortable, of course, the weather and the stickiness of her once crisp, white shirt dress against her skin would do that. She felt no small amount of trepidation, which was completely normal in the circumstances, she thought. She had never been to a big city, nevermind a city on her own, without her mother.

The Prospector's Son
CALIFORNIA - 1847 A disheveled young man, Thomas Wilson, stands on a vast stretch of sandy beach, staring across the ocean at the setting sun. His eyes appear haunted, at the edge of lifelessness. His dirt stained hands hang by his sides, his beard is thick and untamed, his colourless clothes are worn and torn.

The mysterious small black book
I was not totally avoiding love, but had issues falling into love. Some people are conditioned to believe that love is a subtle tender touch while others soak in their misery believing that love is pain. I never would have thought that I'd find love and a $20,000 cash fortune in the security of a small black book. As strange as it sounds, it was a small black book that had held the secret keys to my love and success.

I Am Sagittarius
I Am Sagittarius I was born under the sun sign Sagittarius on the 19th day of December 1945 on a snowy Wednesday morning at 8:15 am. It has been both a blessing and a curse. I do not remember the age when I became aware of “self” but it had to be in my early teen years. Before that I was just like everyone else, no more than a kid absorbing the world as it came to me. Long before my exposure to the Zodiac, the ninth astrological sign known as Sagittarius, affected my mental, spiritual and my physical growth. My birth date being on the cusp brings other traits from Astrology into the mixture both good and bad.

THE PERFECT TREASURE
As a child, I wondered why I differed so much from the man I believed to be my father. I did not understand why I had such feelings. After all, no one ever told me anything which would cause doubt. But, I wondered, how a father could be so mean and abusive to his son? Why would he beat me and cause me fear being alone with him? We shared no common interests of anything. I wanted to go to school, and he wanted me to work in the fields. He believed in farming and was illiterate to the point he could not sign his name. He made an “X”.

A Village Affair
She woke up to syrupy sunlight pooling on the bed and as she languorously stretched her arms and legs she felt like a pat of butter melting on a piece of toast. She showered and put on her same clothes, and despite the wine and the lack of a toothbrush or fresh underwear, she felt surprisingly clean, wonderfully refreshed.

Give and Take
Charlie Desmond was a cautious kid when I met him. Unlike most of our friends, he was average looking, shy, and reserved. We grew close over the course of middle school, and played high school football together. He was the grateful tagalong, the stereotypical wall flower of our friend group. When most of us moved on to Oregon State, I figured Charlie would remain our quiet, considerate, and docile compatriot. I really wish it stayed that way. Most of the other guys didn’t pay Charlie much attention, he didn’t stand out enough to attract much ire or praise. I always liked him though; his lack of audacity was refreshing in a clamoring and busy world like ours. I imagine in retrospect he felt invisible, passed over by potential lovers, left out of inner circles, and under appreciated by coaches, teachers, and friends alike. I’m not blameless in all this. I guess I’m writing this more to relieve myself of the burden than to convince you it’s real. I don’t care if anyone believes me, I just wish I could go back. I wish I could help him. It’s my confession of sorts.

The Happy Exile
As he saw the old man hop out from his dinghy anchored in the shallow waters, he couldn’t help but think to himself how agile the man was for someone that age. He walked slowly through the knee-high waters back toward the beach, holding in his left hand the barracuda he had caught earlier. The old man continued down the other end of the beach to the shade of some palm trees, where he was met by another man preparing a fire. The old man expertly gutted the fish and pulled out a cigar that he lit with the open fire. He was handed a beer by his companion in exchange for the fish.

Bitter
Theresa was barred from her children, her home and her place of business until she appeared in court, she would never think of doing something like that to her family or a love one. He did things without thinking about the consequences. It was not personal, it was military mindset. Thursday night she went to dinner with her girlfriend which she hasn't spent times within a long time ever since he quit financial services. She got home at ten thirty at night, the police car put their headlight, and she wondering what was going on. Two police officers approached her and asked "are you Theresa and she answered yes and they said that they have a restraining order for her from her spouse Mat because she got upset and threw the computer, printer and the phone on the floor. There was no way she would want to do anything that would land her in jail, she loved the finer things in life, and he was not worth it. She was raised without a father, and she missed that kind of relationship therefore she would not wish that on her children or her worst enemies. Her upbringing was not like his, she and her sisters were sheltered from a lot of experiences. She signed the paper and read it and went into the house to call her brother James which lives in Texas. She could not believe that her spouse went that far, but she wasn't surprised since she heard the stuff that he said to his own blood son because he didn't want to run the branch in New York anymore. That was going to disturbed his plan and changed his routine. A few minutes later the same police officers show up at the house and told her that she had to vacate the house because Mat was going too stayed at the house with their son Jaden. They told her to pack her stuff and leave the house; she told the policemen this was a man that I raised his two children without any financial, emotional and physical help from their maternal mom. She was great at packing; therefore she took as much as she can. The last time she left the house for two weeks and stayed at her sister in Westfield, she had Lily came and help her thrown her personal stuff out included her children's baby items. She also called her brother to come and help, as soon as Lilli pulled up in front of the house, Theresa hand her some items. She filled up her car with so many personal items even her safe box that helps her not to feel the pain she was experiencing. It took a person that came from the street to do something that way. While all of this was happening Mat was at the Dunking donut around the corner having a meeting with, Jude, Marie and Antonio was there also. Her friend Carly went there that was how she knew that information.
