The Happy Exile
As he saw the old man hop out from his dinghy anchored in the shallow waters, he couldn’t help but think to himself how agile the man was for someone that age. He walked slowly through the knee-high waters back toward the beach, holding in his left hand the barracuda he had caught earlier. The old man continued down the other end of the beach to the shade of some palm trees, where he was met by another man preparing a fire. The old man expertly gutted the fish and pulled out a cigar that he lit with the open fire. He was handed a beer by his companion in exchange for the fish.
