humanity
For better or for worse, relationships reveal the core of the human condition.
There it Was!
It was sitting in a dark blue bin in the back room of the store. I saw it out of the corner of my eye as I walked by the double doors. It looked real, from what I could see. It had the correct logo, the correct color, and the correct shape. But it couldn’t be! In this store? In this day of the internet?

I'd like you to meet Naomi Houston
She is a woman of forty years… and this is her story A free spirit with a tremendous love for people, interested in everybody and everything. There is a warm understanding nature about her. Mistaking her for plain would be grossly negligent. She is insanely attractive without putting any effort into it, and it doesn't even occur to her. She is at ease wearing no make-up, a loose-hair style, and vintage or second-hand fashions. A naturally beautiful woman, beautiful within. She gives love to her ideas and the passionate ways she expresses her spirit. She wraps her heart around the beauty of the world, and around all who love her and those who need to be loved. That's her power.

"Why My Own Father Cut Off My Legs" - Nigerian Amputee Shares Unspeakable Story
When they tell you there is evil in this world, believe them! Today’s story is such a horrific story, a story that will stay with me I think for the rest of my life. I don’t think I’ll ever be able to forget it because it just goes to show how wicked, how evil, how cruel human beings can be – while on the other hand showing the tenacity of the human spirit and what it looks like to keep carrying on with life despite having the worst thing happen to you.

The Pink and The Red
Nazis cackled as they pulled us outside into the frigid night and doused the trellises with kerosene. Fires crackled as we were put onto our knees in the backside of our little vineyard. Rows of grapes began to burn, their long-suffering stalks that once reached towards the sun, perished beneath the dark German sky. The crackling tinder of crumpling vines sang softly a requiem to a realized dream. Their songs grew louder as we kneeled on cold dirt in the bleak and terrible night.

Elephant of the Ring
Two things that I’ve learned: 1) Clothes don’t make the man, jewelry does. 2) Elephant ghosts are persistent. The one item I’ve found in all of my thrifting finds that stands the test of time beyond any pair of shoes, pants or winter sweater is one single ring bearing the likeness of an elephant head. That one ring has been in my possession since October 2015. The story that led me to the treasure can never be forgotten.

It's a Start
On the way through the internet. Passing through social media. Really just there to see the clothes and purses I see that I can do something that will let me release or let me create from my own thoughts my own ways and my own words. I don't have to find it within myself to tell you a story about my past I just have to come up with the material and go from there. I don’t have to speak on any abuse or parenting that I may or have had or may be going through I just have to put my fingers on the keys and go for it. I just must grab the paper, see the subject topic and tell a story. Don’t get me wrong I will speak on things that matter in love, life, kids and self but I know that I don’t always have to.

THRIFTY CHIC'S/LIMITED EDITIONS
Thrift stores are extremely popular despite opposing opinions or views of things being passed-on or passed down. There are several kinds of thrifty places to shop whether it be a person selling their things on the curbside of a home, from out of thrift clothing stores, or lastly at flea-markets. While some people love the bargained sale of a high price item others shop at thrifty places to find quality items paired with affordable purchasing.

The Pendulum
I don’t hate people. Sometimes though, I really hate their actions. Hate is that nagging fire that rises within you when someone throws salt in your hair, or spits on your shoe. It is the ache for justice in the depth of your heart. This morning, for example, two cars sat, blocking the lane, and the school busses trying to keep their schedules. They took cuts like greedy first graders, instead of circling to the back of the line, like “mature adults.” Far be it from me to judge their mind set. Maybe they didn’t read the email explaining the intricacies of picking up and dropping off their children. Maybe they weren’t thinking clearly from a bad night’s sleep. Deep inside me though, it churns the wheels of disgust and irritation. I have politely pulled next to the cars sitting in the middle of the road, letting them know about the turn arounds ahead, only to have them stay their selfish course. Why are they convinced that they should block the whole road? Is it pure narcissism, a lack of knowledge or simple selfishness and pride?
