humanity
For better or for worse, relationships reveal the core of the human condition.
Swipe Right
Swipe Right Viveene sat relaxed in the Antiqued white chair etched with gold in the delicate swirls. The delicate swirls reminded her of the first time she had visited the Du Sang many, many years ago. The room was draped in rich red velvet with gold sconces with candles scented with Jasmine, Lavender, and a hint of vanilla. The crackling fire also scented with a tiny hint of vanilla. The richly painted artwork that dotted the walls was exquisite. The newcomers assumed they were excellent copies but Viveene knew better. She had known some of the artists personally. She thought about the website that she had browsed last night. She knew when she saw Etienne’s aqua blue eyes that he was the one for this chapter of her life.

ORDER GIVEN ORDER EXECUTED
The best day of an 18-year-old African American female was joining the United States Armed Forces. This is not only the biggest decision in one’s life, but also a life changer. I am an African American with a ready to take on the world attitude because I am full of that red, white, and blue pride. I am that American asset who maintains the law and order in the world. I am the one other nations look to for protection, to control ruthless leaders, help preserve life or take a life, and provide humanitarian support for the world.

Dream Date
She stood at the door, a beautiful wood carved door that reminded her of the old homes in New York. But this was not New York. This was Arizona, with the front yard spotted with purple prickly pear, handsome succulents, colorful flowers on the Argentine Saguaro and beautiful red bougainvillea just like she had in the bungalow she grew up in India.

Serendipity and Wine
One thing you could always count on, is that I am always late. No matter the place, appointment or activity. It’s my constant in life, and one of those things that just...exist. I have 15 minutes to get to the bar before the book signing starts. It’s a 25-minute walk. I could make it there without breaking a sweat. Maybe this will be one of the times where being late isn’t a thing. Maybe.

Barramundi, Billabongs, and a bottle of Merlot
My name is Lil and I live in Darwin in the Northern Territory. When I was 45, newly single and an empty nester, a huge change came my way. My Aunt Margaret who had always been my favourite Aunty lost her husband of 60 years. Margaret was one of those people who always seemed much younger than she was, and always smiling and happy. Jim her husband was the opposite. Margaret and Jim were married very young. Jim was quite the old-style husband who looked after all their finances and ruled the roost.

Questions that shouldn't be asked. Part 1
To all my retail working comrades, this story is for you. Have you ever woke up on a bright and sunny day to go to work and the day is as beautiful as a warm summers day. You get to work, and, all of the sudden, you think, "oh my god why am i hear today"? Oh I know that feeling oh so well. You get clocked in and then, completely out of nowhere mind you, you hear this, "excuse me do you work here?", and that is when the shit storm starts. You hold you tongue, and reply with," yes what may i help you with today." All the while, your brain is thinking, " no the doctor told me to put on this uniform, and stand here for eight hours. He told me it would be good for my health!" I get your pain, trust me, I have heard them all.

BLIND FAITH
When I ended my call with Jane, I was angry and so frustrated I didn’t know what to do with myself. Jane was a very dear friend but unfortunately for me, a hopeless romantic. She just couldn’t understand why I was so mad at her for setting me up on a blind date.

It’s Not a Date Madame
At sundry times, in a distant yesteryear, there was a certain friend of mine that called to something inside of me. He was chivalry personified collectively: honor, courage and courtesy are the words. How could all this be true? If you’re wondering who’s that? He’s my dream, my friend, my superhero, the caretaker, the glee maker, the love giver, the gift giver, my pleasure satisfier, the kiss craver, my sire. This is more than what I had thought of him at first. Now, I want him so. I want to be fantastic like that for my Vincent too. I realized all this for the first time when . . . Now let me start from the beginning. How and where do I begin to tell this?
