Freedom Convoys are Changing the World
So, what exactly is the Freedom Convoy, you may ask? Well, for those who’ve been living under a rock or purposely avoiding the chaos that is the news these days and haven’t heard of the Freedom Convoys taking place right now, I’ll fill you in on the details you’ve missed. Essentially, the Freedom Convoys originated in Canada (that’s where I’m from) as a protest to government measures imposed on truckers. It goes without saying that the past two years have been a roller coaster but over the course of a few months the country has spiralled into a level of frenzy that has reached new heights. With mandates seeming to never end, goal-posts being constantly moved and thousands losing their livelihoods, a group of truckers finally said, ‘No more’. They rallied together and started a pilgrimage across Canada picking up supporters as they went. Their destination? Ottawa, of course; our capitol city. The trucker convoy was determined to make themselves heard, literally and figuratively.

The Meaning of Friendship: Why It Is Important to Have True Friends.
There are many people who come into our lives, but few will stay. Finding true friends is tough because not everyone can be trusted. But it's important to have these people in your life. Friendships enrich our existence and provide us with so much more than what we can do on our own.

The Unconscious Roles that Rule our Lives
“It is ignorance that makes people serious.” Amy Stone Archetypal Behaviour Patterns Surprisingly, it seems that today, everyone has become a political journalist. Millions of individuals have proclaimed themselves as serious chroniclers of their time. Like real experts, they push their opinions, ideas, and agendas on Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, LinkedIn, and the likes, without much regard for the facts, or the truth.

Dream not yet a Reality...
My first initial thought when I saw this challenge was, this one isn’t for me. I didn’t think or know how I could have shown a piece of kindness or inclusivity in the world. I mean I do think of myself as a naturally kind person overall. Am I kind out of fear of what may happen to me? Or am I genuinely the type of person to show kindness? When I think of Martin Luther King Jr., I don’t think I could ever be on that level of patience and kindness. I show everyone the same respect that I receive. However, how do I show inclusivity when I’m the one that always feels left out? As an African American woman, I would say that I am pretty lucky compared to all the horror stories that you hear happening to the black community. I always felt that I was the realistic version of MLK’s dream.

Fostering Peace is The Purpose
Nothing feels better than knowing that you are doing the right thing, and in 2022 fostering peace and kindness is doing just that. My goals for the new year, years past, and years to come have always included trying to help others and manifesting and promoting peace in the world, and to the universe. Helping those in need, being fair, just, honest and expressing are some of the ways I intend on doing this. "You may call me a dreamer, but I am not the only one."

Changing the World One Privileged White 4 Year Old at a Time
For nine years I have been a professional preschool teacher in a predominantly rich white neighborhood, in a predominantly rich white school in a predominantly rich white city. Families cross their fingers, with white knuckles, in hopes that they get on the waiting list in time, and then they pay the equivalent of a college tuition for their kids to enroll. The school is inspired by the teaching approach used in preschools in the city of Reggio Emilia, Italy. In Reggio Emilia, it’s the culture to take kids seriously and acknowledged them as capable, competent citizens who have a desire to learn and share ideas. The curriculum is emergent, child-led and play-based, and the environment is engaging and simple, with open-ended items set out for kids to build ideas off of, at whatever pace they need, as they discover who they are and what interests them, with the freedom and resources provided by their caregivers to pursue those interests. Nature, science, social-emotional, literary and art materials, among other things, are set out as suggestions for kids to explore, manipulate, talk about, and build off of using their imagination. The point of this method is to acknowledge and welcome the fact that all kids, like adults, are different, therefore they have different needs, interests and gifts, and that our differences are what make us human. This philosophy, in itself, creates a culture of inclusion, not only for the kids, but for the people whose paths they cross, their educators and their families. It taught me to see children as the competent, capable individuals that they are.

I Will Keep Wearing A Smile
"You're Never Fully Dressed Without a Smile" by Sia 🖤 Before I go into the ways that I do and will continue to strive to build inclusivity and kindness in the world, I have to be honest here and admit that for religious reasons, I practice strict political neutrality and do not become involved in political or social movements of any kind. In fact, I don’t even watch the news as it's too depressing and frightening for me with all of its talk of terror and tragedy, and I simply cannot bring myself to trust the fake, fixed smiles and carefully calculated frowns of those who claim to speak the truth.
