Convivencia
For nearly eight hundred years Jew and Christian and Muslim had lived together in Sicily in a dynamic tension that had made it one of the creative centers of Europe. Sicilian Civilization had reached its peak under the Fatimids, who joined to the universal Islamic concern for justice an openness to other wisdoms. But even after the Normans, whose kings were little more than raiders and rough warlords, had taken the island for the Bishop of Rome, they relied on Muslim and Jewish scholars to run their courts. Their Angevin and Aragonese successors had done the same.

What other reason would there be to have something important to talk to her about. The pressure of the wait drover her crazy, so she gets up go check her makeup She lightly powered the oily spots that the heat from the fire place gave ,fixed her messy bun and got back comfortable and preceded to wait for Tim to walk through the door. Tim was the handsome country man that looked like he smelled of sheep and horses from being out in the fields all day, Ashley is head over heels and in love with Tim and he matched her imperfectly perfect they were from the same world, the country side of Wyoming. The love they had for each other made them one with each other. Ashley was nervous she couldn’t help, the thought of the idea that tonight wasn’t the night was heartbreaking but she knew Tim loved her, but she knew her issue with not being able to have kids was an issue with their relationship Tim wanted kids and by her not being able to give that because of her medical condition really made her insecure about her place in Tim’s life, but she was confident in the love so she kept the faith and didn’t complain. The intensity of the wait for his arrival was too much to deal with especially on a cup of tea, so she went to the pantry grabbed a bottle of red wine and started to pour. Taking long hard sips, the doorbell rings and she began to put on her game face.

Bad Girl House 17.5
Years earlier, when driving from the university to John’s apartment, I had to pass an abortion clinic that sat on a nearby corner. There were often protestors circling the building, waving shockingly graphic signs high in the air. They screamed their ideals at anyone who quickly walked by or drove past with their windows down. Although I understood both sides of the issue, I never imagined actually walking through the doors of that clinic. Two times now, I had endured mental and physical torture to keep that from happening. Over two pregnancies, a pattern had been clearly established.

Me, Him & IT
I look out and see Sean coming around the coffee shop. I yell out to him “Over here!”, he takes notice and walks toward me. The guy’s name is Sean who I just called out. He’s pretty hot, I’m not gonna lie because he has a nice beard, tall and damn these muscles. The sexual drive in me makes me a little horny and is making my nipples stiffen. As he got closer, I could smell his perfume because he smells so damn good.

Mojave Rain at the End of the World
They had met on a supply run. He had thought there would be no one in abandoned Californian grocery store. It looked like it had already been raided with its boarded up windows shattered, the wood splintered down the middle where people had previously ripped it open. Perhaps all the good that was once inside would be gone but Quentin wanted to check anyway.

Kintsukuroi
-1- It is a rare opportunity, some would say a random circumstance, for a creative in any discipline to be awarded a public art commission, particularly one that pays a handsome living wage. This opportunity has come at a time when many aspects of people’s lives, particularly concerning the economy, have been negatively impacted by a global pandemic. Who, e v e r, could have predicted such an event, or how it would change life on a global scale? Changes that will be in many ways irreversible. Only time will tell which facets of society return to ‘normal’. It’s difficult not to feel guilty for having been given such an opportunity at a time like this.

Summer Porcupine
Car exhaust mingled with the scent of late summer on the side of the Wisconsin highway. Keeping to the shoulder, Luke walked slowly home after visiting a nearby flea market. Seeing a small lump where the gravel met tall grass, he investigated, finding a dead porcupine. To Luke, at age twelve, the departed creature wasn't just roadkill. It was treasure.
