Friends who used to laugh with me, share jokes, and spend time together suddenly stopped replying to my messages. The phone that used to buzz constantly with calls and texts went completely silent. It was shocking and a little hurtful to see how quickly someone could go from being part of the group to just a stranger.

Self Healing Journey
Once trauma strikes, it can be hard to recover. I survived domestic violence, leaving me to restart my life at 36 years old. Over the last 3 and a half years, I have been working on healing. I Spent 7 Days Without Money
I woke up on Monday morning and reached for my wallet… but it was empty. There was no money at all. Even my phone apps, which I usually use to pay for things, didn’t work. My heart raced — how would I eat, go places, or do anything without money? I felt worried, excited, and curious all at the same time. Could I really live a whole week without spending any money? I didn’t know it yet, but this small task would teach me big lessons — about money, about people, and about life. Along the way, I would see kind actions from others, find smart ways to solve problems, and think about what is truly important in life.

The Dark Side of T2D
As I type, I’m trying very, very hard to keep my temper under control. Unfortunately, it’s not for any good reason. I’ve been holding (relatively) steady with Type 2 Diabetes for eight years now. I’ve slipped a bit; I slid into depression during COVID lock down, and again after last year’s election results. I’ve gone from a pre-diabetic 6.4 A1C to an 8.2 A1C as of two weeks ago, so I’ve got to get my act in gear.
