Long-Distance Relationships and How to Survive Them
My boyfriend Lachlan and I have been together for 14 months. We've been in love for longer, but have spent only three of those months face-to-face (until now). I can't tell you how hard it is having to drive him to the airport and watch him dwindle into a dot, with a final wave before I am alone again. He has said that leaving me to get on a plane is always the hardest thing he ever does. God, leaving each other. They say it gets easier, but it doesn't. That's a lie. It gets harder every single time. For me, it feels like a breakup, for him it feels like going through the five stages of grief over and over again. So how do you tolerate all that pain and suffering? How can you make it through time differences and navigating how busy each other's lives are?

Things That Are More Damaging Than An Affair
Infidelity is a complex issue. You meet a person and you think that's what you've been waiting for. It all fits. You start a relationship, you move in together, you make plans. You create emotional, material and human bonds. But time goes by, people change and what you used to love now starts to get boring.

YOU'RE NOT ALWAYS RIGHT
I find it hilarious how so many women think it's okay for a woman to confide in or sleep with another man because she's not getting the love, time and attention she feels she should be getting at home. She feels if her man was doing as he should, it would leave no room for her to cheat. Oh but when her man cheats, it's because he doesn't love her. She feels betrayed because she feels that she's the perfect woman and gives him everything he needs at home. You may think you know the reason he cheated, but you're not always right. Some of y'all are so busy thinking that your perfect, you don't even realize the mistakes that you're making in your relationship.

Truth Over Feelings
It appears that there’s a common misconception. The misconception being that everything true, must align with how we feel. If it doesn’t feel good, then its automatically a lie and cannot be accepted. I see it all the time. I too, have been guilty of this way of thinking. We get so wrapped up in our emotional truths, that we neglect the factual truth because as some of us know, it’s painful to really look at and handle accordingly.

Why your partner's happiness comes second.
People-pleasing is a common behavior in individuals. It comes from our need to be included in a part of something bigger (or smaller) and ultimately our need to experience a sense of belonging. It’s a product of our biological history because our ancestors needed to remain a part of their tribe for their survival. Yet, in current times, people-pleasing can cause us more harm than good. Especially when it means ignoring ourselves.

Fix Yourself Instead of Hurting People
There is a quote I keep seeing go around that says "do whatever the f*ck you want, just don't hurt people". It shouldn't be hard for everyone to live by this. There are way too many people who treat other humans as if they're disposable, and they're only around for their amusement or satisfaction. You don't have the right to use anyone, and considering the feelings of others and how your actions affect them should always be among your top priorities.
