Did a Prank Create the Rolling Calf?
I am from Jamaica, and I always hear the old folks talk about the Rolling Calf. I have never seen one, but some people would swear on anything that they are real. It makes me wonder, what is a Rolling Calf, and how did these stories even start? My grandmother told me a story from when she was a young girl. She and her best friends decided to play a little joke on their community. It was a long time ago, not like now, where you can just call a taxi. Back then, there was only one bus that went to town, and it only came at a certain time. If you missed the bus or if there were no cars around, you had to walk. People would walk for miles and miles, or sometimes they would ride their donkeys.

An Owl in the Daylight
Today, I saw an owl, and I really, really hated it. I live in the countryside of Jamaica. It’s a very green place. There are trees everywhere, so many trees. We have lots of fruit trees, like mango trees, ackee trees, and apple trees. These trees grow so big and tall. They reach way up into the sky, and their leaves make lots of shade on the ground. It’s usually a very peaceful and happy place to be. I love living here because it’s quiet and full of nature’s sounds, like birds singing in the morning and crickets chirping at night. But today, something happened that made me feel not so peaceful. It made me feel very strange and uncomfortable.

Its roots lie deep within Japanese myth of the northernmost Tohoku region, building a complex figure that is as much about tricks as it is about tragedy.

Japan's Haunted Round Schoolhouse: The Ghosts of Numahigashi Elementary
Of the dozens of haunted sites in Japan, a land that by no means has a shortage of ghostly legend, there is no more tragic history than that of the Round Schoolhouse—Numahigashi Elementary School. It's not a tale of a sudden massacre or an ancient evil curse, but a slow-motion, strangling tragedy born of war, a tale that has soaked into the very concrete of its symbolic round walls.

The Evil Warlord and His Chosen One
The fencing sword had been purchased for ten pieces of gold. Lord Jonathan Blackdawn plunged it into a tree stump. His eyes glowed red as power surged through him and he locked the stump and sword into a moment of time. Until he released the spell, the stump would not rot, the sword would not rust, and no one could pull the sword from the stump.
