The Three Knocks
The city had gone quiet hours ago. Outside, the streetlights flickered lazily, washing the empty road in a pale, dying glow. Inside apartment 3B, Alina sat cross-legged on her bed, phone in hand, scrolling mindlessly through her messages for the tenth time in a row.

She Is A Haunted House
The world is a shining, glittering movie of roses and sunshine. Beautiful music of hopes and dreams playing in the background like a welcoming theme song. The girls wear golden summer dresses while the boys wear salmon shorts and laugh over their shots of vodka. Everyone eats ice cream with sprinkles and smiles with their bikinis and surfboards. They pray over their meals and drink orange juice with their eggs and bacon made into a smiley face. The birds feel free to fly and sing everywhere. It’s like a summer breezin’ musical of an after-school special. Everything is open and fresh, people walk down the streets without a care in the world, saying hello to every neighbor they meet. It’s full of small talk and polite greetings. There are tiny dogs in purses and little poodles with perfect perms and ribbons. The world is painted with floral and pastel colors, and all of it makes me sick.

Where Did Angela Go? The Strange, Happy Haunt of Felissa Rose of 'Sleepaway Camp' (1983)
If you’re from the generation that remembers calling someone a “total Angela” and meaning it as the creepiest insult possible, thank Felissa Rose. When Robert Hiltzik’s low-budget summer-camp shocker Sleepaway Camp debuted in 1983, it didn’t just deliver a twist ending — it gave the movies one of their most disquieting young performers. Rose was a child actor, spoken about in interviews as being just twelve or thirteen at the time of shooting, and that adolescent stillness in the role — equal parts fragile and uncanny — is the movie’s long, cold aftertaste.
