Imagine living in a tight-knit neighborhood where everyone knows everyone. In this community lives a family of 11. Then, one bizarre morning, you wake up and they’re just... gone. Vanished into thin air. You and the neighbors decide to check on them, only to stumble upon the strangest and most terrifying story you’ve ever heard.
The Discovery
On July 1, 2018, in New Delhi, India, the locals realized something was wrong. A well-known, well-loved family hadn't opened their shops that morning, which was totally out of character. After failed phone calls, five neighbors decided to go in. The door was unlocked. They stepped inside, feeling uneasy, and headed upstairs. What they saw next was a nightmare that would haunt them forever—a sight so gruesome they ran out of the house screaming.
All 11 family members were dead. Nine of them were hanging from the ceiling, hands tied, eyes blindfolded. At first glance, it looked like a massive mass suicide.
The Crime Scene
When the police arrived, they were stunned. It was the most disturbing scene they’d ever handled. Nine people were hanging in a bizarre, geometric formation. The young granddaughter was positioned below them, and the grandmother was found dead in her room. Even weirder? Every single one of them had their orifices—ears, mouths, eyes—plugged with cotton and tape.
The Investigation
The cops started digging. Did they have enemies? A criminal past? Nope. They were a "perfect" family—the grandmother, her kids, and grandkids. They were prosperous, respected, and had zero baggage.
The police ruled out a break-in or a hit. Why? Because the daughter had just celebrated her engagement days prior, and all the family’s cash and gold were left untouched. There was no sign of a struggle.
The Dark Truth
The autopsy confirmed it: death by hanging, nothing else. But the truth behind why is enough to make your skin crawl. This wasn't just a suicide; it was a deadly occult ritual. They thought they were summoning a beloved spirit, but they were playing with fire.
CCTV footage showed the family members themselves calmly buying the stools, ropes, and wires days before. But why would a happy family do this?
The Journals
Police found diaries dating back to 2007, starting right after the patriarch, Bhopal, passed away. The entries continued until the very last day, containing "instructions" from the dead father to perform a final ritual.
Here’s the kicker: One of the sons, Lalit, had lost his voice years ago after a violent trauma at work. After his father died, the family started following "forbidden" rituals. Suddenly, Lalit got his voice back—but it sounded exactly like his late father.
Lalit (or "the spirit of the father") started micromanaging the family's life, from their business to their daily chores. And it worked! They became incredibly wealthy. They became "slaves" to these rituals.
The Final Act
Lalit convinced them that for the final ritual, they had to "hang" themselves. He promised that at the very last second, the father’s spirit would descend, save them, and they would all be "reborn" into a pure, enlightened state. Being firm believers, they went through with it. 11 lives ended in a heartbeat, likely manipulated by something far darker than they imagined.
This is easily one of the most terrifying true stories out there. It’s a grim reminder of how far blind faith and psychological manipulation can go. Truly a cautionary tale. 👌
Finally, I want to clarify that this is a true story, not fiction. If you'd like more stories, I have many. Please like and comment if you'd like more 👍
