The Old Wooden Bridge
Eleanor Evans was well known in town for her odd behavior, but she was known almost as well for the tall palomino horse she rode each day. Toby was beautiful cream-colored mount, with a thick mane and tail. His face always wore an expression of good-natured geniality, and the children in town fawned over him until their parents shooed them away from the woman. “Eerie Ellie” and Toby could be seen every day on the road to and from town. The two would start out in the high pastures, lit from behind by the bright morning light. They’d ride down the valley and join up with the main road, plodding along as the wagons rolled by, coating them in a fine layer of dust. Eventually they’d make it into town where Ellie would trade her goods for what she needed to get by; flour, cloth, cream. Ellie was something of a medicine woman. She’d gather and make her wares from the land around the cabin. Berries from along the roadside, mushrooms from deep in the forest. She had salves for burns, creams for rashes, and word was you could get other medicines with a darker purpose if you only had the coin. The townspeople were wary around her; they kept their distance, did their business with her when other means failed. Ellie and the folk mostly left each other alone, an unspoken agreement to live and let live. With the exception of the Burton Boys.

The Conjuring of Platelette;
The Conjuring of Platelette A Damascus bladed knife, long ago folded upon itself over seven million times in a sacred forge, tumbles end over end across a vast kitchen towards an industrial freezer. The surgically sharp blade parts the air before it in a deafening crack, thwapping deeply into thick steel with a heavy, thudding, skint. Through neither the sonic boom, nor the vulgar penetration following it, did one single molecule of the blade yield by the distance of even one micrometer. As the blade pierced solid metal, the silver pommel of the knife's rosewood handle was given a sharp boost at the tail end of the deafening cry that sailed across the room with it: a string of violent syllables, “WHERE IS MY LAMB SAUCE!?”

The first date
I arrive at my sister's house for her birthday, I can already hear her music from a half mile away. She’s turning thirty and of course she's gotta go all out for it. I'm ready for some fun, I suppose but i don't know any of her friends. Hopefully it won't turn into me standing alone all night while she gallivanting through the party. She greets me with a squeal and a hug, looking like she's already had about four drinks tonight. I’m equally excited to see her but anxious about all the people, I try to keep it off my mind so she can enjoy my company. I scan the room, looking for someone else I know, that way I can mingle back if Ashley drifts off. Ashley pulls me to the side, to whisper to me quickly she says there is someone new she works with that she wants me to meet.. I look at her in disbelief, surprised at the thought of her trying to set me up. It’s been a while since I’ve gone on a date, but i didn't think it was long enough that my older sister would fix me up with someone. Curious, I ask about the person and she shows me his social media account and I decide to send a message, I mean why not? I try to be patient and wait for a reply, and spend the rest of my night chasing after my sister.

Principle
Taking a step back into what I thought was nothing but a dream fell behind the wall as it too moved and tried to reach out for me. Alone I stood like an itinerant looking for a new place to lay my head. Staring off into the distance scared and knowing that my end was inevitable. She stepped closer. I took in a breath and as the wall reached its boiled arms filled with oil around me, pulling me into itself. Here now I stand on the outskirts of somewhere that I do not know. Blasphemous!

Can You Hear Me
Part 3.1 The marching commenced across the bridge and unto the grassy area near the fishing hut where we stopped and looked around. There was a massive amount of us and seemed to be extending a few miles deep across the bridge and beyond. Night embraced us and none feared it, not even the boys who normally are, but they stood there as the gargoyles hung staring down, they stood their ground and looked forward unto me.

Glow Like Stars
I remember it like it was yesterday. The Explore Mars Initiative Team (E.M.I.T.) returned from their eighteen month explorative journey. Reports about their mission were kept quiet after the third month into their return trip; no one knew why. It wasn’t until they landed, that even the International Council for Extra Terrestrial Exploration and Adaptation (I.C.E.T.E.A.) knew what happened. By then it was too late. I could expand on the should’of, could’of, would’of scenarios, but I won’t. That won’t change anything now. I could tell you how panicked everyone was, how angry the world became about the decisions that were made, but that does nothing to help anyone right now. Right now I’m telling you our story, to preserve history I suppose, to tell you how we did it; how we survived.
