The Midnight Knocker
The parents left without as much as saying goodbye to their children who have nestled in their bed away from the cold still night. Chloe was watching the carriage leave in the moonlight as her white night blew in the cold wind. As the oldest of the family, it was her duty to watch her younger siblings as their parents went off for urgent business that night with the sky pure black with only a few stars that had decided to shine.

Stars on the ceiling
I was always so afraid of the dark as a kid. I used to think that there was something wrong with me, the way I would tense up when I could no longer distinguish my bedroom's wall, from the floor, when it all became a uniform sheet of darkness.

Underneath the bed of roses
It had been three days since I last stepped foot outside of my quite English cottage, you see I live high up in the mountains of Washington state in this little cottage by myself. Liquid Gold
I waved at the Maitre D as I brushed past the long line of patrons waiting to enter the five-star, high-rise, restaurant. The bar was in directly in front of me and the bottles of liquor and wine shone brilliantly in the ambient lighting. The bartender was fast and efficient, but took her time to get to know each person and make them feel special. Her black slacks and navy top stood out against the cherry wood that encased her work area. Her long chestnut hair was pulled back into a neat bun that left her youthful face free. She stood there cleaning glasses as she laughed with a customer.

The Following Night
I woke up in a log cabin in the mountains. I was unsure as to where I was or what I was doing but as I looked around I realized that the room was empty minus the bed I was on and I was covered in blood, though the blood was not mine. My head was pounding like the day after a long night of vodka and tequila, but I don't remember drinking the night before.

The Boneman
Part One My heart was racing as I drew back the arrow with my bow, trying to breathe steadily and remain focused as the last victim ran frantically, looking for the source of the deaths of all his camp mates. I smirked as he slowed to a pause to examine a fallen brother and WHOOSH! The arrow struck him in the back of the head, and he fell lifeless to the ground with the same pathetic yelp all the others gave. I gave myself a small victory lap by walking around each body on the ground, not even bothering to rob them of what little wealth they likely had before they died by my hand. Luckily, my stealth was completely flawless, and none of them saw it coming. Petty deaths, but victorious ones either way.
