Vampires
Dena Kay liked to take me to the movies when she didn’t have anyone else to ask along. I liked going, as of course, I would like to go just about anywhere. After all, it wasn’t a whole lotta fun, and also rather tricky, having to play dodge ball by oneself. Dena Kay just loved scary movies. She liked to watch me squirm and sometimes scream, so she took me to see Count Yorga Vampire at the local movie place. That movie made a mark on my existence, to say the least. Yep, there is always that one movie that reaches out to me now, well beyond the years, and the more horrific the scenes….the better.

Cravings
The area around my wound itches like crazy today. I still don’t understand why Tom went crazy at the club the other night and bit me. Would have torn my whole arm off if the bouncers hadn’t pulled him off and threw him out. Joe and I tried to find him some time later but he must have walked home because he was nowhere to be found.

The Murderous Spirit of Howard Frank
The cabin in the woods had been abandoned for years, but one night, a candle burned in the window. The dark dense forest surrounding the cabin fell eerily silent, not a croak from a frog, a song from a bird or a chirp from a squirrel. The creatures of the forest felt the dark presence had come back. It had been fifty-five years since that candle burned, and it could only mean one thing, the spirit Howard Frank had returned to claim his next victim.

Wrong Place, Wrong Time
The cabin in the woods had been abandoned for years, but one night, a candle burned in the window. John Axelrod lit the candle himself, then rubbed his hands together putting them to his lips blowing warm air on them trying to warm them up. He lowered his hands and rubbed them quickly together shivering.

Blue Whirl
"The cabin in the woods had been abandoned for years, but one night, a candle burned in the window." Angus began his story in a low and enticing voice. The campfire crackled, sending firebrands into the night sky. His audience of teen-aged campers was already becoming unruly. "Oy! Just 'cause I can't see you doesn't mean I don't know what you're up to," Angus warns, ducking a barrage of marshmallows with a wave of his hand. "Alright, alright you rascals! Settle down and listen." Angus takes a moment to smell the air, thick with smoke and the scent of wet pine needles. As he lifts his chin toward the light of the moon, he continues his story.

The Visit
The sounds of worship music filled the sanctuary as the youth group band played, and the teenagers sang along with the music. Karen stood in the back of the sanctuary leaning against the wall, her eyes closed as she sang along. Suddenly a feeling of something not quite right came over her, so she opened her eyes and looked around. Taking a good look around Karen saw nothing out of the ordinary. A quick count showed all the teens were where they had been and the adult leaders were still in the sanctuary as well.

A Fatal Projection
The cabin in the woods had been abandoned for years, but one night, a candle burned in the window. Debra had never really taken notice of the cabin during her midnight astral projections. She always came to the woods after a difficult day to get lost in the dark and to witness the beauty of the wilderness come alive without a human’s presence. Tonight was different, the light had caught her attention and always a curious one, she floated closer for a peak.

Sundown
Chapter I: Start With a Bullet The cloudless morning carried with it a calm, relaxing chill as the refugees flocked to the pier in order to get on the last remaining ship out of the city. They trickled slowly past the government-reinforced checkpoint as many others were backed up farther than the eye could see.
