Cross My Heart and Hope To Die.
It all started in high school. The best or worse years of a person's life. There was this girl named Savannah and another named Brandy. Savannah had just moved to a new city and had enrolled in the new semester. New girl at the school. She did not have to do the embarrassing introduction speech. Brandy was born and raised in the area. Most of the people in school knew her from way back in the day. These two girls never had a class together, but they eventually had the same circle of friends. It was one of those times when everyone was hanging out and they happen to lock eyes. That was the moment things changed forever. Savannah was curious at first because Brandy was very attractive, but did not think anything about it. On the other hand, Brandy knew at that moment she had to get Savannah. Savannah would see Brandy more and more around in the hallways and hanging out with their friends a lot more. Eventually they began talking and getting closer. It was around December when they decided to make it official. For the rest of those turbulent years, there were many break-ups and make-ups. The girls eventually decided to focus on their futures and parted ways.

A New Friend On A Silent Night
It had been quiet for too long. Melody ran her fingers through her shoulder-length chocolate brown curls. She paused, as her thumb ring had gotten caught in her hair. "Why do I do this to myself," she mutters as she pulls her hair out of her ring and attempts to smooth it back into place. It's still silent in the apartment. It was the type of quiet that unnerves you, that silence you can 'cut with a knife'.

Phobos
We are drifting somewhere outside of the Andromeda System. When I say we I mean those of us left on the SS Phobos. I remember once looking out in awe at the wonders of space. It was the first time I sat on the bridge of our ship with Clark and we were alone.

The Pier
Max felt the warm, humid summer air in the open windows as he cruised along in his old pickup, and Sweet Home, Alabama played over the radio. He was driving on a narrow two-lane county road deep in the Arkansas Ozarks to a fishing spot his cousin Earl had told him of. Trees rushed by, hugging the road tightly, as the amber lighting bugs flashed slowly in the still summer air. The waxing moon, now at three quarters hung high in the sky.

Is it all in my head?
All in my head Part 2 Startled, I sit up. I reach into the darkness, scrambling for the lamp string, sending all the items from the night table crashing to the floor. I finally find what I am looking for and pull. Yellow light illuminates the room, as I look around frantically reassuring myself that the old man is gone. That I was only dreaming, and it’s all in my head. I let out a heavy breath, I can feel the panic leaving my body as I breath deeply, exhaling the pain away.

Is it all in my head?
All in my head Pt. 1 I wake to the sound of the creaky door. The pungent stench of cigarettes wafts through the air. His shadow creates a stretched out long black void as he stands in the doorway blocking the light. He clears his throat loudly, then turns his back to me and walks slowly out of the door.

Mermaid Sushi
Mermaid Sushi By: Christopher Thompson Photo Credit: Yemaya Naja Courtesy of Najaestic Entertainment It was the neon sign that first attracted me to the place. Almost no one uses neon anymore. At least, not in the classic style. Bright pink letters in English flashed to Japanese and were overlaid atop the blue and green silhouette of a mermaid.

I Dream of Being Bewitched
There's a beautiful young woman hovering 20 feet in the air on a broomstick while sobbing quietly out in the driveway; hurling clothing, toiletries, and personal objects out the window of a suburban home and onto the lawn below with telekinesis.

Hi'iaka.
Hi’iaka. Hi’iaka. Hi’iaka. The faint chant of her name whispered with the wind as it blew through the leaves of the surrounding trees. Dark clouds rolled in and the sky thundered as rain began to pour in a heavy downfall. The pueo lay dead before the boys on the pavement. Bloody and motionless. La’akea shuffled away from it, but Kai’s bare feet were planted in place. His fist still tightly gripped the metal rod he used against the barn owl.
