What is a Freedom Fighter?
Thoughts on Ireland, Israel, Palestine, and the current USA

Who determines what a freedom fighter is?
Is it the freedom fighters themselves? As they pronounce their righteous and necessary goal? Certainly not. Because then we would simply have too many freedom fighters on our hands.
Is it the organization that same group is fighting against? No. Because if that were the case there would never be any freedom fighters and only agitators, terrorists, lesser.
Is it the people on the outside of the conflict? Watching each day as the casualty rate stacks up. Also no, because with differing opinions there would never be an agreement as to if the group were freedom fighter or terrorist.
The only entity that can determine who a freedom fighter is and who are terrorists is whoever wins.
That's one of the unfortunate realities of the world in which we live. You can see it in the old adage "History is written by the victor", and so it is.
A quote from Donquixote Doflamingo of the anime One Piece
"Pirates are evil? Marines are righteous? These terms have always changed throughout the course of history. Kid's who have never known peace and kid's who have never known war have different values! Those who stand at the top determine what's wrong and what's right! Justice will prevail you say, of course it will. Those who win the war, become Justice."
A quote quite inspired and one which has many examples throughout history of which I will provide you with 2.
The first being my ancestral homeland of Ireland, a homeland I've never been to but whose culture and history fascinate me to no ends.
If you haven't studied much of Irish history you've probably at least heard this bit;
Britain imperialized and colonized Ireland, oppressing them, culminating in the Irish Potato Famine (because the British sold all of their food).
What you might not know is how the Southern Counties got to be their own country.
A time period known as "The Troubles" came about with the Irish freedom fighters using guerilla tactics, car bombs, and any manner of resistance they could come up with to force the British out of their home and back onto their island.
And today those people are known as freedom fighters... but why? Because they won.
Imagine the newspaper headlines as these events were unfolding.
I mean come on. Car bombs? Gunfire? Assassinations? Don't those sound exactly like the methods that terrorists use to well terrorize? But Britain backed off, the Irish won and therefore the story of history was written that they fought for their freedom and (mostly, I'm looking at you Northern Ireland) got it.
Now the second example I have is still ongoing. Israel v. Palestine.
Just like that quote I mentioned before, there are kids in this region growing up not really knowing what peace is... they are going to see, feel and think very differently from anyone else
Both sides have committed atrocities yet since Israel is the dominant power they are currently writing the pages of history.
Palestinians are terrorists, they're lesser, all these things are being told to us by the dominant power. The same things Britain was saying about the Irish not too long ago.
Now, with these examples in mind I hope you're beginning to understand me as I shift focus to present day America
"Libtard, Lunatics, Radical Left, Domestic Terrorist"
The side in charge is yet again labelling the opposition as terrorist
They are using historical inaccuracies or straight up lies
Attacking people both physically and politically to establish themselves as even more solidifies Justice.
And as is the case in each example, they are right only if they succeed
No matter how much you think your cause is righteous, no matter how loud you scream at the injustices you see before you, you will be deemed the aggressor if you lose because the victor will write you as such.
There is no reason to let someone else tell you what you are
