When it comes to gaining power, bad people use it to gain more
They never gain power to do something with it, they gain power to have it, relish in it, double it down on itself so it grows exponentially and never goes anywhere. Even if you see the people in power commit an atrocity, that is never the true goal. It is a deplorable action for sure but the action itself usually doesn't matter it's the outcome.
Hitler only ever attacked two types of groups, those that challenged his power, and those he could use as scapegoats to expand his power.
He attacked the Catholic Church and the Freemasons, two groups whose loyalty was meant to lie in other things aside from Hitler, those being God and the Orders respectively.
Then he attacked minority groups like Jews, the LGBT, the disabled, all to help him expand his power.
He had his policy of Lebensraum, a policy of expansion the ultimate goal of which is was to increase his power even further to allow for more expansion.
Edward Abbey once said that "growth for the sake of growth is the ideology of a cancer cell".
And that quote rings true whenever you apply it to a person or group who are expanding their own interests solely for the sake of doing so.
These same ideas are being pushed today, in America.
Imperializing Venezuela?
Threatening Greenland?
Attacking anyone that disagrees with you like Somalians, LGBT, Muslims, etc.?
These are the same tactics, going after groups that can challenge his power (his rival political party) and groups he can use as scapegoats for when he inevitably and unfailingly fucks up.
All these ICE raids, law suits, attacks on our Constitution, attacks on our education system, all of what has been done so far... none of it was the goal, none of it was the end, they are all a means to increase his power even further.
And one of the sickest part is the Doublethink.
If you haven't read 1984 by George Orwell I suggest you do while near a medic as the connections you make to the world you live in might give you heart palpitations.
Doublethink is "the mental ability to hold two contradictory belief systems and accept both as true."
We saw it on full display just this weekend with Mrs. Good.
When she "ran over" (yeah right) the Ice officer. The entire right screamed out at once
"FAFO, Just Comply, She assaulted him, She got what she deserved"
How quickly they seem to forget Trump pardoned every single J6 rioter including the ones that assaulted police officers.
How quickly they said Ashli Babbitt was murdered but Renee Good was killed in self-defense. As if their statement of Renee "not complying" doesn't apply to people on their side of the aisle.
This "doublethinking" is the most dangerous aspect of control that this current regime can have for they can twist the knife in your back and think they're doing you a favor all at the same time.
It allows the regime to do whatever it likes to you and be totally justified by its supporters.
So yes, in history and even now, power is not siught for action, power is sought for power.
