Alien vs Predator is launched in 2004 and defines the story of a group of scientists and mercenaries as they discover a mysterious underground pyramid located in Antarctica. Lance Henricksen (Bishop in Aliens) plays Charles Bishop Weyland, the human basis for the future android and CEO of Weyland Corporation.
Alien Vs Predator: Requiem (2007)
Alien vs Predator: Requiem is a direct sequel to Alien vs Predator; it occurred directly after the previous movie. After the conflict between the Aliens and the Predators finishes in a tie, the Predator spaceship lands in a small rural town in America, where the unfortunate people that live there are progressively plucked off.
Besides giving us a peek of the Predator's homeland and the development of a Xenomorph/Predator hybrid, the film is a pretty forgettable spin-off that doesn't introduce any more to the overall mythology of either franchise nor does it establish anything that will happen in the years to come.
Prometheus (2012)

Alien: Covenant (2017)
Alien: Covenant is the sequel to Prometheus and thus a prequel to Alien from 1979. In the film, a colony spacecraft in 2104 makes an emergency landing on a planet rumored to be home to The Engineers. The unfortunate crew is again prey to the terrible alien monsters, who are still not exactly the Xenomorphs we love and know.
Rather than establishing the original series, the film continues the plots established by Prometheus. We do, however, learn more about the origins of the renowned aliens and who was wholly accountable for them. Even if it doesn't modify anything about the previous films, it's an excellent thriller.
Alien (1979)
Alien, released in 1979, begins off the original series of movies, released in chronological order from this point on. The crew accidentally allowed a dangerous guest onboard after receiving a distress signal from a nearby planet.

Aliens (1986)
Alien would have been tough to produce a sequel to without doing the same thing repeatedly. To counteract this, James Cameron opted to create an entirely new film.
Ripley is recovered after decades in cryogenic sleep in 2179. She is summoned to the planet where they first encountered the alien, which has now been converted into a colony. With a modest band of marines, Ripley takes on an army of Xenomorphs, becoming an action movie legend in the process.

Alien 3 (1992)
David Fincher's directorial debut, Alien 3, was not the best showcase for his extraordinary capabilities as a filmmaker. Following the events of Aliens, the ship in which Ripley and the other survivors fled is damaged and crashes down on a space station that works as a jail.
This film witnessed the end of Ellen Ripley in the franchise when she dedicates herself to destroy a Xenomorph, but not exactly the end of Sigourney Weaver. The film also continues the concept of Weyland Corporation being the franchise's human villain.
Alien Resurrection (1997)
Alien Resurrection is yet another break for the franchise. It has a significantly more humorous tone than the other films, thanks to writing by Joss Whedon. It discovers Ripley has been cloned and is being used to create more Xenomorphs for military activities. Of course, Ripley's scheme goes wrong, and she joins forces with a squad of mercenaries to eliminate the monsters.
It was widely regarded as the poorest in the series, and it effectively ended the franchise for so many years. However, there is speculation that we may see Weaver's Ripley again in the future.

The NFL season starts in the fall, and once upon a time, the champion was crowned either on or slightly before New Year's.
