Trillion Game: The Inspiring Journey from Poverty to Wealth in Anime
Spoil-Free Anime Review

Two episodes in and this might be one of my new favorite anime. I came across the Trillion Game by accident. I had yet to learn this was a very popular manga. I hadn’t even heard of it before today, but I felt like watching something new so I was scrolling on the site where I watch anime and this one popped up under the latest releases. It is safe to say I was interested after reading the description.
I am always looking for fun new anime to watch! Comment a suggestion below!

Before I get into the story I want to hit on the animation style. I am a huge fan of the 90s animation style, however, it is from the 90s which means it’s grainy and uses a lot of dark colors. Trillion Game captured that 90s style but brought it back to life in a modern way. I haven’t seen an animation style like this in a long time and I am obsessed with it!
Let’s get into the storyline. I am going to call this genre start-up to success. I love watching movies and shows about success stories. Watching someone go from their meager beginnings to maga wealth and the trials they face are very inspiring and moving to me. What I think is funny about me running into this anime, is I was just looking for a storyline like this. I kid you not last week I was googling trying to find an anime that was a start-up to success or had something to do with business. What’s amazing about anime is its ability to transport you into another world with wild storylines and characters, however, I have lately been binging horror anime for my horror week and Halloween anime list that I am publishing next week. With all that gore and disturbing images, I just wanted a basic anime that I could watch that felt like the real world. More slice-of-life anime are focused in high school, as an adult they are still fun to watch but I don’t find them relatable anymore. However, as an aspiring entrepreneur hearing wild and fun success stories gets my blood pumping.
What are the odds I would randomly come across exactly what I wanted to watch? I’d say this anime and me are meant to be.

First off this anime does not mess around with pacing. I am known for watching TV shows, movies, or YouTube videos on 2x speed. I like to just say my brain is broken, but I just can’t pay attention if it’s going to slow. That being said this anime does not need to be sped up. They start with action right away and you just strap in and get ready for the ride. I love how we got glimpses of their future, just a little taste to see the end but I have no idea how it’s going to happen.
Secondly, besides the two main characters, we already have a business-strong female lead. In the business world being in a leadership role as a woman you are always questioned if you got there because of your daddy or if you slept your way to the top. Rarely is it assumed you are in that role because of your ability. Handling the whispers while moving forward despite the rumors makes this female businesswoman an amazing lead.
If you like movies like the social network you will love this. A quiet geeky coder partnered with a smooth-talking extrovert makes the perfect team. I was hooked to the screen and I could not believe I have to wait another week for the next episode.

My review: I know I review a lot of anime but you have to put this one on the top of your list! The fact that I haven’t heard of this anime shocks me. Great animation, an attention-grabbing storyline, unique characters, and leaves you feeling inspired to go after your wildest dreams, this anime has it all. 2 episodes in and I have high hopes for this anime. I will do a review when this anime ends too so you will have to come back for my final thoughts. I am beyond happy with the anime being released in the fall of 2024, We got Uzumaki, Dandadan, Oshi ko no season 2, Ranma 1/2, and now Trillion Game. I beg you to please watch it so I can have someone to talk to about it.
Have you heard of Trillion Game? Do you have any start-up anime to recommend?

Decoding the Significance of ‘The Boy and the Heron’
I was lost the whole movie! I didn’t follow a thing, and even though I was entertained I could not tell you a single thing about it after it finished. So of course I had to figure out what it was about after I watched it. I watched YouTube videos explaining the creation and story. Once I learned the depth of the storyline my mind was blown. I rewatched it once it was released to stream and it has become one of my favorite Studio Ghibli films.
Bye for now!!
