5 Anime Moments That Made Me Cry as a Child
I've been watching anime for almost as long as I can remember, and I still watch anime today. The shows I watch as an adult usually have more mature themes than what I watched as a kiddo, but there are exceptions. I've found that the Japanese give children, as an audience, more credit than much of the Western world in terms of what themes they can handle in their content. While they have long produced anime and manga aimed at young adults, the "kids' shows" like Sailor Moon, Pokemon, and Dragon Ball don't shy away from the serious stuff when it serves the narrative.

My Review of "Calvin Harris: Funk Wav Bounces Vol. 2"
Calvin Harris: Funk Wav Bounces Vol. 2 has recently been released. The album is a nice sequel to the first Vol. 1. If you're familiar with the type of songs with Vol. 1 you will be right at home with Vol. 2. Nothing has really made this album that much different from Vol. 1 but that's not necessarily a bad thing either. You know what you're going to get into and you'll be satisfied with the results.

She-Hulk, The Honest Review
For the most part, I’m ignoring everything around the show, cast and crew interviews for the most part aren’t relevant. The whole, “why isn’t Bruce called He-Hulk” nonsense just isn’t relevant to the show, but there are a few bits that are so telling when you watch this show.

The Movies That Made Me: How I Became A Film Critic
Recently I watched a documentary on film art and history and it put me in the mind of thinking about my formative moviegoing experiences. Remembering the moviegoing experiences that shaped who I am as a film critic and as someone who simply loves movies. My earliest moviegoing experience was not all that memorable. I was 6 years old and my brother Chuck and his then girlfriend took me and my brother Kevin and my younger sister Amy to see E.T.

When the Living Bury the Dead
Wake up babe, a new 95 Theses just dropped. For those lucky enough to not have your lives inundated by the relentless hellscape that is Twitter, you may have missed the latest discourse. The microcosm of wokescold-eat-wokescold that is Book Twitter (booktwt for short) has once again proven that reading and being utterly illiterate are not mutually exclusive. At 10:39 pm on August 17, a thread dropped which rendered the general atmosphere of Twitter somewhere between uninhabitable and euphoric. The thread–the poster of which remain unnamed to avoid further harassment of her–started like this:

The only quote about writing I'll ever need.
There are a million quotes about writing out there, ranging from the straight-talking, to the completely unfathomable. There's a lot of wisdom in them, there's no doubt about that, but there's a lot of…other stuff in them too.

Bullet Train - A Movie Review
From the way I look at this situation, maybe it’s good luck that we missed the train. Riding into theaters in 2022, Bullet Train centers around five assassins onboard a fast-moving bullet train. They soon learn that their missions have something in common.
