Top 10 Lifetime Villainesses of 2024 (Part 1: #10 - #6)

The first half of the list ranking the top 10 best villainesses from 2024's crop of movies

By Clyde E. DawkinsPublished about a year ago Updated about a year ago 6 min read

2024 is coming to a close, and this year was quite interesting in the world of Lifetime film villainesses. Hard to believe that this is my fourth year doing this; I first got to work on this list back in 2021, when I was just getting my feet wet on Vocal. Lifetime villainesses are absolutely delicious; a fact I've known for many years, and they just keep getting more and more amazing as time goes by and the Lifetime movies continue to evolve and develop. It was a hell of a job picking ten villainesses who really stood out this year, but after careful thought, here is the first half of this list for 2024:

10. Sasha (A Widow Seduced)

Erin Agostino as Sasha in A Widow Seduced

On February 4, a week before Super Bowl Sunday, Lifetime gave us this wonderful treat known as A Widow Seduced, which centered on Kellie Gibson, who found herself lucky in love when she met wealthy businessman Dan Smith. Of course, the luck ran out in true Lifetime fashion, as Danny Boy has some skeletons in his closet, though Kellie would have Sasha as a close friend an ally, but in the film's climax, Sasha went from a potential victim of Dan's villainy, to being revealed as a conspirator.

Sasha and Dan were actually husband and wife con artists (their real names were Emily and Chris Blake), and they banded together to target wealthy women, with Kellie as their latest victim. The couple would be confronted by their past victims, and while Sasha appeared to be arrested, we saw that she escaped custody in the final scene. Erin Agostino appeared in this film as the evil Sasha, and she played this villainous role very well, especially during her reveal. Her filmography includes a lot of holiday films, and this was only her second LT thriller. Here's hoping Agostino does more of these, including a possible sequel to this film where Sasha resurfaces to do more evil.

9. Maria Delgado (My Fatal Social Following)

Malone Thomas as Maria Delgado in My Fatal Social Following

We have Lifetime Movie Club to thank for this villainess, as My Fatal Social Following hit LMC on June 7--one day before the Stanley Cup Final began. In the film, Julia (the central protagonist) was reeling from the disappearance of her close friend, Nina Reynolds, and had been bullied and accused of having something to do with her disappearance. The only true ally she had at the school was her teacher, Maria Delgado, and regarding the film's progression, it saw Julia receive a number of texts from a group known as "The Family."

As Julia would learn, "The Family" was a cult full of teenage girls, with Nina being found with the group. In addition, Maria was unveiled as the group's leader, and she revealed that she formed the group to eliminate men, though she also exploited and abused the girls in her faction. Maria was quite the insane villainess, and Malone Thomas portrayed Maria brilliantly in the film, especially when it came to Maria's heel turn and her maniacal demeanor in the climax. Here's hoping Malone Thomas does more LT thrillers, and this film continues to prove that the LMC exclusives give us some great villainesses.

8. Sharon (A Nurse's Revenge)

Kristina Clifford as Sharon in A Nurse's Revenge

One day before the New York Yankees began play in the World Series, Lifetime Movie Network aired A Nurse's Revenge--LMN's last original film in the month of October. While I do love Lifetime movies that do have a bit of a whodunit factor, I can't help but love the ones that tell us that a villainess will take center stage. In this case, the villainess was Sharon, a nurse who was on call after a group of teens were hospitalized in a hit-and-run accident that killed a teen named Todd Alcott.

The central character of the teens is Cassie Freemont, who is personally tended to by Sharon. However, Sharon has sinister plans for Cassie and her friends. She kills two of them; strangling Braden with a seatbelt and killing Tamara via carbon monoxide poisoning, while also sabotaging Cassie and setting her up as a pill popper. The climax sees Cassie and her only surviving friend, Scott, visit Todd's parents and suspect them of the killings, only for the duo to learn that Todd was adopted, and Cassie figured out that Sharon was Todd's actual birth mother, and the true culprit. Sharon makes an attempt at Cassie and Scott, but ends up killed herself, while also seeing Todd appearing to come for her.

Sharon was played by Kristina Clifford, and this was not her first time playing a Lifetime movie villainess, as she also played 2024's first Lifetime villainess, Meg Jay, in Dying for Fame. Sharon was a very twisted revenge-seeker for sure; she didn't care who she hurt or who she destroyed. She wanted to kill anyone she felt was responsible for killing a child she gave up for adoption. Clifford played Sharon very well, she really dove in to Sharon's bloodthirsty demeanor. So she's two-for-two regarding playing villainesses, which means we'll be overdue for a heroic role for Clifford next time.

7. Natasha Barrett (Have You Seen My Son?)

Alana Hawley Purvis as Natasha Barrett in Have You Seen My Son?

As the Stanley Cup Playoffs began, Lifetime aired this film, Have You Seen My Son?, which centered on Catherine Greene, a woman who was out on parole after serving a dozen years for killing her infant son. She found herself being accused of theft after being released, and even on the receiving end of a murder attempt as she went on a quest to find the real truth about her son, Alfie. What she would find was quite a conspiracy, beginning with Catherine being abducted by Stephanie Bowers, who actually kidnapped baby Alfie all those years ago and gave him to her sister.

And who was Stephanie's sister? None other than Natasha Barrett, who ran the halfway house Catherine resided in. A third villainess involved was the ladies' mother, Marsha Barrett, but the true evildoer in this piece was Natasha, as not only did she help cover up for her sister, she was also the one who set up Catherine for theft and later attempted to kill Catherine in the film's climax. In typical evil abductor fashion, Natasha stated that she gave up her life for Alfie and put herself over as being benevolent... while wielding a shotgun and looking to knock off Catherine. Right.

Regarding the cast, it included Alana Hawley Purvis as the evil Natasha Barrett, and she was stellar in this villainous role, especially when she's running wild holding that shotgun in the climax. Again, the film had three villainesses, but Natasha was the best one by far, as she did the most and she was immensely ruthless, and she covered that up with a veil of geniality. Alana Hawley Purvis has been in demand this year; this was the first of six Lifetime movies she did this year! However, she has yet to do the villainess thing a second time; here's hoping that changes in 2025!

6. Angela Daniels (Who's Stalking My Family?)

Liz DeCoudres as Angela Daniels in Who's Stalking My Family?

Rounding up the first half of this top 10 is an amazing villainess from Who's Stalking My Family?, which aired on LMN on November 7. The film centered on Liz Miller, her daughter Sadie, and Sadie's budding kinship with fellow student Colton Daniels--which becomes a little bit too close for comfort. Both Liz and Angela (the latter being Colton's mother) are concerned about Sadie and Colton and wanted them to stay away from each other, but after a series of attacks, it's feared that Colton went off the deep end.

When Angela's boyfriend, Leo, is shot, suspicion is hurled towards Angela's abusive brother-in-law, Pete Kennedy, who later turned up dead. However, Pete's death came before the shooting, and regarding Colton, the reason he had been around the Millers so much was because Colton was Liz's biological son who was adopted by Angela and her husband. Speaking of Angela, she was behind everything: stalking and later attacking Liz, and also the shooting, with Liz as the intended target. Angela imprisoned Sadie and then ended up confronted by Liz, but not before it was revealed that Angela murdered her husband because he was set to leave her. Angela wanted Colton all to herself, but Colton managed to talk his deranged adopted mother down from her rampage.

Liz DeCoudres was stellar as the psychotic Angela Daniels; she played her character's demented obsession and ruthlessness to perfection. I really enjoyed watching this villainess in action, and DeCoudres really showed out. She needs to be in more Lifetime thrillers!
