The Top 10 best Pokemon Illustration Rares from Scarlet and Violet so far..
Personal Opinion - No specialty sets

Hello! Welcome to my top 10 list of Scarlet and Violet Illustration Rares! Below are all personal opinions and I would like to hear yours in the comments. A few things I would like to note. This list is strictly Illustration Rares and does not include Special Illustration Rares. This list is also only main sets. There are no specialty sets like 151, shrouded fable, paldean fates, and prismatic evolutions. I would also like to point out the pull rates changed throughout these sets. The change in pull rates affect the value tremendously. In SV03 and SV04 it was harder to pull a specific Illustration Rare than a Special Illustration Rare and that is shown in the price.
10. Arbok - SV05

Is Arbok a favorite pokemon of mine? No, not really. But I love this art. The fact that Arbok is upside down really makes this card unique. The moon sits perfectly in the center of the picture as it sheds light on to arbok targeting its prey.
9. Ninetails - SV02

This art is just so majestic. It really is a beautiful card. Ninetails looks so elegantly posied in this dry forest. The colors really make Ninetails glow.
8. Skarmory - SV08

I understand that this card is very simple and yes it isn't the most amazing artwork I've seen but I think what makes me love this card so much is the realism. A giant steel bird is kind of impossible to think about but if it did exist it would look exactly like this. The way the artists made Skarmory shimmer in the sun is amazing.
7. Ceruledge SV08

This is the first "illustration" Ceruledge card ever made. It looks amazing and Pokemon hit it out of the park. Ceruledge is going to be a Pokemon that will continue to be popular after gen 9. I think it's probably the gen 9 favorite other than maybe the starter or box legendaries. I loved using him on my first play-through of scarlet and violet.
6. Eevee - SV06

I love how thoughtful this image of Eevees is. They made exactly 8 Eevees in this illustration representing the 8 different evolutions for Eevee. I love how everyone has a unique personality about them in this art. And it's just a fun art to pick out every eevee and their action.
5. Bulbasaur SV07

Bulbasaur and pidgey hanging out peacefully. I just love that this card connects with two other illustrations. One is in this set of stellar crown and the other is a promo from obsidian flames. A set of cards almost all collectors are trying to find.
4. Squirtle SV07

Okay, I liked the Squirtle illustration just a little bit better than the Bulbasaur and that's not because I like Squirtle better it's just because I love the depth of feel in this picture as well as the playful little turtle shooting off a water gun at a Pidgey. The Charmander isn't on this list because it's a promo.
3. Latios SV08

Latios is just such a cool pokemon. Add in a beautiful sunset and cute little town on the water. This card is just amazing. Oh and did I mention their is a Latias SIR card that goes with this card? Surging sparks is such a great set with beautiful arts. If you haven't grabbed this card yet, I would grab it now while it's $30.
2. Magikarp - SV02

I love the colors in this card mixed with the black background. The gyrados is hidden within that specific color tone. It's such a detailed card that is well thought out. There is a reason this is the most expensive illustration rate in scarlet and violet. Holding this card in person really is a totally different experience.
1. Groudon - SV04

IT'S A GROUDON WITH VOLCANOES BLASTING IN THE BACKGROUND. Need I say more?? This card looks epic! I'm a gen 3 lover so I am def biased about this card but Groudon making volcanoes boom is erfect for this pokemon. Let's not also mention how the water clashes into the land that Groudon is creating. Could Pokemon also put a Kyorge that attaches to this art?? That would be incredible.

Personally I think Magikarp should be 1. It’s so iconic!
