Fan favorite characters will show upbeginning June 2 for the sad farewell.

It's finally time to bid farewell to John
Days of Our Lives spoilers reveal that the time for a dreaded event has come. Several popular members of the Horton/Brady/Black family will make their way back to Salem to say goodbye to John Black (Drake Hogestyn).
Carrie Brady Reed (Christie Clark) will have a bittersweet reunion with her mom. Marlena Evans Black (Deidre Hall) and sad moments by her stepfather's bedside.

John's death was planned in advance
Fans noticed that Hogysten was losing weight but had no idea he was battling pancreatic cancer. He was a trooper and continued acting for as loong as his health allowed. The news of his death was shocking, and now the time has come to bid farewell to his popular character.
Executive producer Ken Corday said he talked with Hogysten about his character's death which was shocking to some fans and cast members but Drake signed off on the idea. If the actor had survived John would have returned to Salem.
This sounded like John was going to be missing and be presumed dead off-screen to possibly return to Salem at a later date. Instead an unnamed actor is portrayng him wearing bandages. Perhaps after the funeral is over the name of the person portraying Hogysten's charater will be revealed.
Eric Brady (Greg Vaughn) will show up to spend time with John in the hospital, and Will Horton (Chandler Massey) returns to Salem to be with his grandmother and stepgrandfather before John passes away.

The family is rallying around John
Belle Black (Martha Madison), Brady Black (Eric Martsolf), and Paul Narita (Christopher Sean) are already in town and have visited with John. Tate Black (Leo Howard), Johnny Dimera (Chandler Massey), and others will be dealing with the impending death of their beloved hero.
Sami Brady (Alison Sweeney) was just in town, and it's unclear if she or Allie Horton ( Lindsay Arnold) will come home. Arianna Horton ( Marissa Reyes) is already in Salem but has not yet visited her great-grandfather.
Days of Our Lives fans know that John won't survive because Drake Hogysten died last year, and spoilers say his character's funeral will happen soon. The rumor mill reports that John will take his final breath on June 2, just as Bo Brady (Peter Reckell) comes out of his coma.
These will be emotional scenes for fans to watch, but they will finally end the saga of John Black, who was off-screen for eight months before Drake Hogysten died. It's been a long year, and viewers have also dealt with the death of Bill Hayes (Doug Williams).

Many will be affected by John's death
Steve Johnson (Stephen Nichols) is dealing with guilt because he called John to help find the Versavix. No one blames him, and everyone knows that John would never say no to helping his friends.
Days of Our Lives has said goodbye to three leading men within two years. Fans were dealing with the death of John Aniston (Victor Kiriakis), who passed away in November 2022, when Bill Hayes (Doug Williams)died 15 months later in January 2024. Just eight months later, Drake Hogysten passed in September of last year.
Hope Brady (Kristian Alfonso), Shawn Brady (Brandon Beemer), and Ciara Brady Weston (Victoria Konefall) are by Bo's bedside, and they also have mixed emotions about John's death. Marlena will be devastated to lose the love of her life, and Abe Carver (James Reynolds) and Roman Brady ( Josh Taylor) will be mourning the loss of their longtime friend.
Look out for Days of Our Lives spoilers, and make sure you tune in so you won't miss the farewell to John Black/Drake Hogysten).
