All Things Witches
We all have a fantasy-type show or movie we love to watch. Whether you are really into fantasy or not, you have to admit that the genre is pretty intriguing. I first became hooked to fantasy while watching Charmed. Charmed displayed women as very powerful and capable of protecting themselves. It was unlike anything I had ever seen besides Harry Potter of course. Charmed was more enticing to me at the time since it was about sisters growing more powerful together. I have an older sister and even wished that I had a younger sister. It was more of the sisterly bonding that I desired and had me initially so glued, but of course, how could I not notice the magic.

6 Reasons to Love Doctor Who
Doctor Who is the greatest fandom to ever be created. Here are the many reasons why: 1. The Doctor, of course, must be number one. There are many sides to the Doctor. There is the best friend being shown to Amy and Rory, then there is the lover to Rose and Riversong, and there is the familial with Donna and Clara. Those are just the ones I grew up with. Obviously, the orginal Doctor Who played by William Hartnell showed us the true family man when he traveled with his grand-daughter. The Doctor showed his audience that there is more than one type of person, but he also displayed the concept of becoming a new person. The show calls this regeneration and each new Doctor brings those new personalities. However, at the end of each episode, fans are reminded that it is still the same doctor, just a different face.

Bending the Elements:
Speculative fiction is a genre that entices its audience to open their minds and suspend their beliefs in what they know is real and possible and take a leap into something that they wouldn’t fathom happening in reality. The fantasy world of Avatar: the Last Airbender and its sequel Legend of Korra have managed to do this in an exceptional way. Though much of the fandom focuses on characters and story development as reasons to gravitate towards the series, the world building is an exceptional piece of the story as well.

Nearly 60 years of being the best in Time and Space
I have often thought how funny it is to be a newcomer in a classic-fandom world; how dipping your toes in an already mature fictional series can be incredibly exhilarating and daunting at the same time, and I have a particular sympathy for those individuals who choose to explore the contents of stories that have been going on for longer than they might have noticed. I have been exploring Star Trek in such a way with my husband at the moment (mainly previously knowing I liked The Next Generation and was partial to Data and Geordi La Forge, and of course being a fan of Spock and Sulu even before really watching the original series, perhaps because being a fan of them just seeped into our consciousness when we humans begin liking anything Sci-Fi or Fantasy).

Welcome! Everything is Fine.
"But why?" Most fantasy stories can answer the why question pretty simply. Sauron must be stopped before he can defile the Shire. Voldemort must be stopped because he's a wizard Nazi. The Empire must be stopped because they're space Nazis. Presumably we'll end up seeing Jason Momoa fight a fish Nazi in an Aquaman sequel, and so on and so forth until all forms of Nazis have been exhausted.

Lessons I Learned from Game of Thrones. Second Place in Fan(dom) Favorite Challenge.
There’s nothing worse than that feeling of emptiness you get when the rolling credits appear after the last episode of your favourite show finishes. There’s a sense of panic as you start to sift through ideas and different shows you could maybe use to fill the hole in your evenings, but nothing is quite the same.

What makes us love 90's - 2000's cartoons, and hate what's aired now?
Cartoons, no matter the stage of life you find yourself in, you will always remember the cartoons you used to watch as a kid for hours on end. Starting from the 1960s with the Flintstones to now with shows like The Amazing World of Gumball, there is a universal understanding that kids love cartoons, but what happens when you are no longer a kid? A burning question appears, why do kids even like to watch this stuff?
