'Peaky Blinders'
This show was a surprise to me. I was not expecting it to be as good as it was in reality. The start of season one was interesting, but it took a bit too long to get into it. Once you get halfway into the first episode, it hooks you in. Not only does it have a great storyline, but it is something different than anything else out there. There really isn't another show set back after the war that focuses on an English "mob" family and how they try to make their way up in society.

'Dark Phoenix' Review - What It Does Well and Not So Well Compared to the MCU
This is a non-spoiler review of the new X-Men film Dark Phoenix, another retelling of The Dark Phoenix Saga, this time set in 1992. (Though, thankfully, the film is not too "in your face" about it being 1992.) It is being perceived as the final X-Men film before the property eventually gets integrated and reinvented by the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Technically, The New Mutants will be the last film of this continuity. And while Dark Phoenix may not necessarily feel like as grand of a finale as one might hope for the cast of the 2010s X-Men films, it puts me in a position where I appreciate what Fox has done well and what Marvel Studios has done well.

'Departures' - Review (Netflix)
Asa Butterfield is a terrible dancer. Truly, truly awful. Or at least Calvin, the character he plays in Netflix’s Departures is. Calvin is a hypochondriac working as a baggage handler in an airport. Such is the extent of his hypochondria, his doctor, Dr Collins (Ron Simons), sends him to a cancer support group to try and cure him of his affliction.

'The Handmaid's Tale' Season 3 Is Off to a Strong Start Despite Setbacks... So Far
Audiences everywhere screamed "BLESSED BE THE FRUIT!" on June 5th, when the first three episodes of The Handmaid's Tale, season 3, premiered on Hulu. The premiere picked up right where the season 2 finale left off, making for a fast-paced first thirty minutes or so before it retreated back to its slow-burn style. What will season 3 do differently?

Late Reviews: 'Drive'
What drives a story? Puns asides, people find different stories compelling. Some prefer the drama that unfolds in lavish period pieces, while others prefer the anxiety of a horror story. The viewers ask questions left and right: will the hero/heroine escape with their lives? Will they end up with the love of their life? Who's on their side? Who or what stands in their way?

'Good Omens'
This has recently been let loose on amazon prime in a six episode telling of the book of the same name. If I said it’s a Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaimon book, and Neil is involved heavily in the show, then you may guess what it’s like already. A Doctor Who director doesn’t do any harm either.

It’s essential in life to make friends. Just be sure that they’re not a psychopath taking pictures of your every move. Greta is a 2019 thriller drama directed by Neil Jordan. After returning a lost handbag, an unlikely friendship is established between two women. However, something is off about Greta. Though avoiding the woman, Greta endlessly stalks poor Frances. It’s only a matter of time before the situation can get out of hand.
