'Point Blank' - Review (Netflix)
With the conclusion of the MCU’s Infinity saga with April’s epic Avengers Endgame release, and all of the characters—and the actors who played them—taking a break—except for Spider-Man: Far From Home having Tom Holland reprising his role as Spider-Man/Peter Parker, and Samuel L Jackson returning as Nick Fury—the rest of the main players, with, once again, the exception of the omnipresent Jackson, have been doing other less celebrated projects. Without the juggernaut that is the MCU, and because so many of the actors are now wedded to their famous super-powered personas, getting eyeballs on to their other films and projects is challenging.

Thinger Strangs 3: The More Things Strange, the More They Stay the Same
I think I liked this season of Stranger Things, but it also left me feeling just a bit underwhelmed. In some ways it’s an improvement on the last season, but in others I feel like it doesn’t try as hard. I don't really have a hot take or anything, but once I got started I realized I had a lot to say, so here we go. Oh yeah, spoilers.

Friendly Canadian Reviews: 'Spider-Man: Far From Home'
Greetings! As you could gather, this post contains spoilers, so proceed with caution! ⚠ I recently saw the new Spider-Man movie, and I liked it! I had good seats at the theatre, so that was a bonus. And the popcorn tasted extra fresh...

Book Review: 'After Alice'
Haven't read it? Get this thing on Amazon here. For those of you who have been following my Vocal journey, you can tell I enjoy Alice spinoffs... can't you? I took a 300-level English class during my undergraduate years in college that was based on Alice's Adventures and Looking-Glass, which I enjoyed quite a bit. I ended up writing an unnecessarily lengthy document on the character of Alice becoming a warrior-style character throughout time. It was kind of badass, let's be real.

Reasons to Love 'Stranger Things' Season 3
Of course, if you are a fan you might be biased on the latest season. But I'm here to tell anyone willing to read, that I am not a star-crazed fan. In fact, I only got into this season because my husband is a fan. Of course, I have to watch it as it's in my nature as a woman who attended college to study film and media at ASU. At first, I wasn't too drawn into Stranger Things it was just a tad off-putting for me. This season, however, got me. I read the creators of the show pushed backed their production for its CGI work, and I must say, I was not disappointed.

'If....' Film Review
if…. was my introduction to Lindsay Anderson’s filmography, so upon my first viewing I was not at all familiar with his caliber as a director. The only name I really recognized in the cast was Malcolm McDowell, who gave one of my personal favorite performances in 1971 as Alexander DeLarge in Stanley Kubrick’s A Clockwork Orange. In this film, however, he plays an entirely different type of role from the notable one he would take on three years later—and it could possibly be his darkest.

'Stan and Ollie' (2018) Review
Stan and Ollie (2018) is a nostalgic deep dive into the duo’s strained relationship in their twilight years as they attempt to raise enough funds for a new film. They attempt to achieve this by setting off on their grueling 1953 theatre tour of the United Kingdom, while also trying to fix their personal issues, which have been bubbling under the surface for the sixteen years previous. Written by Philomena’s (2013) Jeff Pope and directed by Filth’s (2013) Jon S. Baird, the duo are brought to life in a sensitive homage in every facet that choses celebration over re-creation.
