'The Lion King'
The Lion King is the newest Disney remake, and the film is directed by Jon Favreau. I know there are people who hate these Disney remakes, and they have a valid reason, but honestly I will keep watching them. It’s very obvious that Disney is just making money off our nostalgia and it’s fine, but I do think they need to step up and make more original content. The other problem I have with these remakes is that I feel like it pushes the idea that animation is subpar, or less than live-actions, which is not true at all. Animated films deserve so much more love, and I hope Disney releases more original animated movies. I love The Lion King, it is one of my favorite Disney movies of all time. I love it so much, I actually have a dog named Simba. Let's get to it, this movie was a photo-realistic computer animated film, which means the setting and the animals were made to look like how they actually are in real life.

'The Lion King' Provides Astounding Visuals, But Is a Soulless Carbon Copy of Its Superior Source Material
When animated Disney movies make money, those movies become live-action remakes. And then the remakes make money as well. And so, we are all connected in the great circle of financial gain.

Netflix's Movie Review: 'Secret Obsession'
Secret Obsession was released on Netflix on July 18, 2019. If you like psychological thriller films, this is one to watch. The 97-minute movie has three talented actors including Brenda Song, Mike Vogel, and Dennis Haysbert. It has the usual suspenseful moments of a psychological thriller that most people love.

'Magnolia' Film Review
Paul Thomas Anderson’s Magnolia comprises multiple co-existent storylines, which are ultimately intertwined in different ways. The characters are tethered to each other somehow through various relationships, whether that be familial, romantic, friendly, or otherwise. Every one of these characters has something in common: they all represent a form of childhood trauma. The long-term effects of their troubled upbringings are presented rawly (one can argue that it is rather heavy-handed, though I disagree for reasons I will mention later), regarding thorny subject matters such as drug addiction, promiscuity, and molestation. When you look into the characters, you are supposed to see children who were, or are being exposed to the perils of the real world far too early.

My Viewing This Stevening... 'The Lion King' Remake
Back when the remake was announced a few years ago, there was instant concern about how Disney would actually manage to capture the sheer greatness that was the original animated classic. Yet another in a long line of Disney "live-action" remakes of its animated classics, just what really could they do differently to establish it as something unique from the first? Well... as it turns out, nothing much, other than the coat of paint.

'RocketMan' Spoiler Review
Overview This is a positive review, because I thoroughly enjoyed this movie, and I will talk about it more in depth. Also this is not a spoiler free review so read at your own risk. The Rocketman film was a biopic film of the singer Elton John who, in the movie, is portrayed by Taron Egerton. The film cast includes Jaime Bell, Richard Madden, Bryce Dallas Howard, Charlie Rowe, and many others. I did not walk in with super high expectations or with an abundant amount of knowledge about Elton John, but the movie was better than I could have thought, and I am a bigger Elton John fan now.

'The Lion King' Remake Proves That the Original Is Still King
The Lion King is the latest offering from Disney's line of remakes. This photo-realistic computer animated film is directed by Jon Favreau, who previously directed Disney's 2016 adaptation of The Jungle Book. While one could argue that the 1967 animated The Jungle Book was surpassed by that version, they might be a bit disappointed by how this remake of The Lion King does not really improve upon the 1994 classic. Much of the first half lacks the energy of the original. The back half has some good additions here and there, but it's not enough to make this interpretation great overall. For a movie that is a half hour longer than the one it's based on, it's astonishing how little newness it feels like it has.

'Euphoria' Ep. 2 Recap and Review
I recently did a review and small character analysis of the new Euphoria series, Euphoria starring Zendaya, and I thought along with doing a big picture review I'd an episode recap for those who haven't watched. I decided I start with episode two instead of one because I believe recaps are for people who've watched the first episode and aren't into the show enough to want to watch the next and they prefer reading about it. According to the actors and creators of the show each episode is centered around each of the characters. Moreover the second episode of Euphoria called "Stuntin like my daddy," seems to center around the character Nate, who is a overly masculine quarterback, who finds pride in protecting his on-and-off girlfriend Maddy. Maddy is the definition of a popular cheerleader, with slim figure, plump lips, and borderline bitchy attitude.
