Review of 'Carnival Row'
Maybe I'm a sucker of steam punk—I am—but Carnival Row, the science fiction, science fantasy, mystery/ detective, searingly political relevant eight-episode series that debuted this weekend on Amazon Prime, is much more than that. As those adjectives suggest.

'Black Panther': Marvel's Ground-Breaking Success
There are periods in history that are altering, game-changers. In 2018, Marvel Studios released the Ryan Coogler-directed black superhero film titled Black Panther based on the eponymous black superhero of the same name.

‘BH 90210’: S1 E4 “The Table Read”
The fourth episode of the Beverly Hills 90210 quasi-reboot “BH 90210” begins with an exterior shot of the Peach Pit. If you watched the original show, you might recall the Peach Pit was the regular hang out for most of the characters.

'A White Man's Guide to Rikers Island'
A White Man's Guide To Rikers Island is an informative play about the jail itself, from what it is like to be incarcerated there to the history of the prison. Based on a true story, we learn about playwright Richard Roy and his life. Roy is played by a fine actor, Connor Chase Stewart. Roy grew up in Sparta, New Jersey, and had many opportunities in his life. He went from boxing to acting, both very easily and very fast. He was enjoying success, acting in Shakespeare In The Park while doing Guiding Light during the day.

'Ten Count' Comic Review
Ten Count is a BL comic taking the community by storm. Written by author Takarai Rihito, the story concentrates on an assistant, Shirotani, suffering from a particularly harsh case of mysophobia, or the fear of germs. It follows his everyday life and rituals and gives a deep insight into his greatest fears. At the start of the story, the supporting character and love interest, Kurose, notices Shirotani's mysophobic tendencies. He provides support and engages in treatment with Shirotani, concentrating on gradual exposure using typical phobia treatment methods: listing his hardest task down to his easiest task in a 10-part list (hence the name "Ten Count"). They begin working through the list of tasks in order to not cure, but improve his condition. The storyline overall opens strongly and is endearing, with a natural plot development and a realistic concept that provides its fair share of Easter eggs.

Movie Review: 'Hot Air' Steve Coogan Suffers in Adam Sandler Leftover
Hot Air is a lazy, pace-free, laugh free, comedy/drama that wastes the brilliant Steve Coogan in a role that he should have absolutely killed. I should not be surprised that a movie directed by Frank Coraci, Adam Sandler’s go to guy for dim-witted, unfunny tripe, would stink on ice and I am not surprised, not really. I am surprised however, that someone as ingenious and irrepressible as Steve Coogan would waste his time on something so toothless and creaky as Hot Air.

Movie Review: '6 Below: Miracle on the Mountain'
Survival movies are some of my most favorite types of films. If they're based on a true story, even better. I actually didn't know that this one was based on Eric LeMarque's story when I pulled it up in my queue on Hulu. Eric LeMarque is a former hockey player who got involved in drugs and spiraled out of control. He had to lose his way to find it again. His story is heart wrenching, fascinating, and inspiring. CBN did a wonderful interview with him a couple of years back. Eric goes into detail about his emotions while this movie was being filmed. It's definitely worth a read!
