A Filmmaker's Review: 'Gandhi' (1982)
Let's start with the fact that when I was a child, I had this film on VHS tape and I had actually sat and watched the entire thing before I was eight years old. I'm Indian and Indian people love watching this film over and over again, even though it stands at around three and a half hours long. I had seen it multiple times throughout my life and yet, I had never really paid very much attention to it the way I did recently. I sat and watched it, and I really watched it. I watched it like I was watching a star exploding or another rare phenomenon occur.

‘A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood’ Review
Hello, neighbor. The moment you’ve been waiting for is finally here: my thoughts about A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood. I’ll be sharing parts of the movie that stood out to me. Before I go any further, I want to remind everyone of a few things. The first is that if you love any articles I’ve written so far, please feel free to send me a one-off tip, which is at the end of every article. No tip is ever too big or small. It helps me and other Vocal creators write better stories. Also, in case you’re keeping count, this is the second movie I’m reviewing. I rarely review movies, but will do so if a trailer or trailers of an upcoming movie capture my attention. Last but not least, if you haven’t seen the movie yet, you might not want to read my review because it will have spoilers. So go ahead, see it, come back here, and then read my thoughts about it. As for everyone else who has already seen it, I hope you enjoy my review.

How 'The Knight Before Christmas' Wasted a Perfect Title
So I’m not really one for Hallmark Christmas movies, or one for romantic comedies either. But after seeing the trailer for Netflix’s The Knight Before Christmas, oh baby, I was in. The movie has such a perfectly dumb premise that it’s kind of genius. A medieval knight travels through time to fall in love with Vanessa Hudgens, and the movie is called The Knight Before Christmas. Knight with a K, it’s fucking brilliant. So I watched it.

'A Streetcar Named Desire'
This is for all those movie and literature fans who have read Tennessee Williams play A Streetcar Named Desire or who have seen the play or movie. My favorite version is on video and I have already watched it a dozen times at least. The movie came out in 1951 and starred Marlon Brando and Vivien Leigh. It was interesting to watch Vivien Leigh as the aging Blanche because she was so clearly still in my mind as the young and vibrant Scarlett in Gone With the Wind. However since Blanche was supposedly a wilted Southern bloom then she could have just as well have been Scarlett in her sunset years.

'Survivor: Island of the Idols' Episode 9
Well, after such a controversial and big episode last week, entering into this episode is quite the experience. And wow, what an episode it was. First off, Jamal was voted out; decent move, though I did want to see Dan get booted after that whole thing. Anyway, back at camp, I'm proud that Janet didn't quit. I hope she wins it all. She is the strongest person in the game emotionally and it's great she didn't quit. Then, a rat crawled in Karishma's mouth, freaking her out. And then, she slept in and didn't do any work. Not a good move for someone on the outs. So, it seemed obvious that she'd get booted out. But then, she found an idol. Looks like she won't be gone anytime soon. But she showed up an hour later, only to fake sick to make the excuse. But, then Lauren, Tommy & Noura said they'd call over the doctor for her. But, she refused and said she felt better after drinking some water, though Noura was quick not to believe that. But for now, that doctor situation seemed to be avoided.

Review of 'His Dark Materials' 1.3
I'm enjoying His Dark Materials, most of all the nature, behavior, and variety of the Daemons. As I understand them, they're some sort of external manifestation of the humans they're connected with, including their human sensibilities, with perhaps some other things that Daemons have on their own.

Review of 'Watchmen' 1.5
That was the best thing about the insane episode 1.5 of the insano Watchmen on Sunday—"Some Enchanted Evening"—sung first by Sinatra at the beginning of the episode and at the end by some group unknown to me. But my favorite rendition of the song that Ezio Pinza first sang in Rodgers and Hammerstein's South Pacific all those years ago has always been this one by Jay and the Americans.

My Review of 'Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri'
Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri is a hell of a title for this movie. It's long and I didn't know what to make of it. The title of the movie pretty much tells you what the whole movie is all about. There were three billboards outside Ebbing, Missouri. It's funny how the three billboards were essentially a character in this movie.

'Knives Out' Is a 'Clue' Style Joyride
This holiday season is providing fans with a classic whodunnit story with Knives Out. There's so much to love about Rian Johnson's entertaining whodunnit. This review is based on an advanced screening. The classic whodunnit relies on mystery and surprise twists and reveals. The plot of the film involves wealthy patriarch Harlan Thrombey (Christopher Plummer) being found dead the morning after his 85th birthday celebration. Suicide is the assumption, but the detectives have a few questions for this chaotic family.
