Sweet Girl
Parents and their children, where do we stop and they begin. Sweet Girl tells the story of a devoted family man Ray Cooper, embarking on a bloody, violent pursuit of revenge and justice against the ultimate Big Bad pharmaceutical company Bioprime, responsible for pulling a potentially life saving drug: Sparrow, from the market just before his wife dies from cancer. The movie starts with a man hunt for Ray Cooper by the FBI ending with him on the roof at PNC Park stadium in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and jumping off into the waterways. Then the story jumps back to years earlier.

‘Sweet Girl’ Review—Conventional Action Excitement
Here’s a bit of film critic BTS for you: when a studio believes critics will dislike a film, they will either not screen the movie early, or they will allow critics to watch it early, but only allow them to publish the review once the movie is available to the general public. Unfortunately, this is one of those movies.

Dune: The cult Sci-Fi novel and the new movie
Dune – the 1st in a 6-book series, written in 1965 by Frank Herbert is potentially one of the littlest known sci-fi novels in modern times. However simultaneously it has sold 20 million copies worldwide with an influence on culture to match. It can be felt all over the place, from movies such as Star Wars, The Chronicles of Riddick, and The Matrix, to tv shows like Star Trek, to books such as Game of Thrones and, quite possibly every sci-fi novel written after it. Similarly so its influence on pop culture is so big that it has been parodied and referenced in everything, from The Simpsons to The Big Bang Theory, South Park, the videogame Fallout, and believe it or not in the lyrics of Weapon of Choice by Fatboy Slim. Some when they hear the name ‘Dune’ will have images in their head of the 1984 movie by David Lynch, starring a young Kyle MacLachlan, which had a soundtrack scored by Toto (yes them of Africa fame) and Brian Eno. The movie itself, although a flop has gone on to amass a cult following. More recently an updated 2-part movie, filmed by Denis Villeneuve (Sicario, Arrival and Blade Runner 2049) starring an ensemble cast, was to have its 1st part released in December of 2020. However the global COVID-19 pandemic caused the movie to be pulled, and a future release date of October 2021 issued. In preparation of the release of the movie last year I decided to read the novel.

Reminiscence
In the near future, The oceans have started to reclaim the earth. From this catastrophe came the battle for the borders wars for the remaining dry land. People who lived behind protective walls survived, but those who weren’t drowned. Then came the land barons who bought up all the dry land (now called baron country) for pennies on the dollar, profiting off of the desperate trying to escape the floods.

My Review of "Maze Runner: The Death Cure"
Maze Runner: The Death Cure came out back in 2018. The first movie had come out in 2014 and the sequel came out the year after. There was much worry that this franchise wouldn't be able to finish off the trilogy as there was quite a long hiatus for the last episode. Due to the length of the hiatus I'm sure a lot of you may have forgotten what had happened in the previous movies by the time you had watched this movie.

Book Review: Nine Perfect Strangers by Liane Moriarty
Christmas 2018, I was gifted this book, twice. Practically everyone I knew was gifted it for Christmas. Liane Moriarty was beloved for Big Little Lies and her other seven books, so this was a much anticipated release. However, in true book worm fashion, this book remained on my TBR (to be read) pile for years.

Dream Horse - A Movie Review
Life is all about finding your passion. Once you find it, don’t let it go. Dream Horse was released to theaters in 2020. Based on true events, a small town is brought together to breed a racehorse. Believing that Dream Alliance has no chances in competing in races, judges are proved wrong.

Pursuit of Happiness Movie Review
The film is based on the true, intriguing, and terrifying story of a man, a worthless man, who fights for success. Whether one response positively or negatively to this moving story depends on seeing Mr. Smith and his sons as winners, and on accepting the idea that poverty is a work of luck and bad decisions, and that success is the result of heroic and dreamy endeavors.
