Jennifer's Body
Let’s kick off pride month by discussing one of the gayest movies of all time, Jennifer’s Body. Now this was once a widely hated movie, it was shat on pretty universally. But since its release it has developed a cult following that truly understands it for what it is, satire. Diablo Cody wrote a brilliant and beautiful piece of campy satire and it is perfect. I have talked before about how the initial rejection of this movie was fully due to the marketing. First of all the movie was never marketed as a satire, and second of all it was marketed to men when the actual film was clearly made for the she’s and the gays.

Hi, hello, my name is Maoni (mon-ee) and this is my review of K-dramas I've watched recently. Everything I watch is available on either Netflix, Hulu, or Viki so I will include what platform the show is on in its review. In this post I will be talking about Alchemy of Souls, Connect, Summer Strike, Something in the Rain. I don't know if it's necessary to add a disclaimer but these reviews are just my opinion as someone who likes TV and movies. I am not a veteran K-drama watcher (my first k-drama was Squid Games) so some things I mention may not be note worthy to those who are more versed in K-dramas. With that being said, I would like to start the reviews with my favorite off the list, Summer Strike!

Genre: Thriller/Suspense/Psychological Thriller Published: May 2021 Goodreads Rating: 3.86 The Last Thing He Told Me by Laura Dave piqued my interest from start to finish. I read this novel morning, noon, and night! I’m not one to usually take lunch breaks at work, but I couldn’t resist escaping from my job for at least thirty minutes to read in the middle of the day. (I would then read again into the late hours of the night…needless to say, I read this book fairly quickly).
