10 Moments Janis Ian Was the Hero We Deserved
High school is that stressful place almost everyone has been to. While some seemed to find enjoyment out of it, a majority of us couldn't wait to walk out of the doors and never return. Someone who shared our desire to get out, but managed to have a little bit of fun in the process was Mean Girls' own Janis Ian.

Here's Why 'Chasing Amy' Is Kevin Smith's True Cinematic Achievement
Most people would say that Clerks is director/writer Kevin Smith's best film. I beg to differ. Smith has built an eclectic filmography, with films ranging from comedy to drama to horror, and a long-running TV presence thanks to Comic Book Men, and an extensive podcast library. But Chasing Amy is a gem that moviegoers often forget about. That is, if they've even seen it at all.

The Monster Mash
In the far and distant year of 2005, my friends and I saw Peter Jackson’s remake of King Kong. The movie starred Kyle Chandler, and featured the legendary Kong as portrayed by the equally legendary motion capture actor, Andy Serkis. Little did I know that 14 years later, I would be seeing Kyle Chandler in another movie featuring an equally iconic monster. Godzilla: King of the Monsters is the sequel to the 2014 movie, Godzilla, is the 35th movie appearance of Godzilla (the giant, nuclear radiation powered lizard), and the third Godzilla movie to be made by Hollywood. It’s also features the American movie debuts of Toho Company’s other monsters, Mothra (a giant moth), Rodan (a fiery pteranodon), and King Ghidorah (a three headed and two tailed dragon). That information dump aside, is the movie any good? Let’s find out together.

In My Opinion: The 5 Worst Films of the Last 5 Years
I think you all saw this one coming. I've actually been working on this article for a while because there have been so many good movies in the past five years, ones that I have loved dearly. But then there have been films that make me feel like if I have to watch them again, I'll be calling the police—because that would be tantamount to torture. What we are going to do is go through what I believe are the five worst films of the last five years and, see exactly why I think so.

'Godzilla: King of the Monsters'—Critics vs The Fans
Godzilla: King of the Monsters is now in theaters, and I have not yet seen this movie. I have just heard a lot of people talking about this movie, and given how ignorant I am about the world, and the legacy of Godzilla, I am just sitting on top of a hill, watching an active battlefield beneath me.

5 Movies that Will Give You HOPE
Here are 5 movies that I hope will give you... hope!!! 5. 'Philomena' (2013) Poster for Philomena movie In 1952, Irish teenager Philomena (Judi Dench) became pregnant and was sent to a convent. When her baby, Anthony, was a toddler, the nuns took Philomena's child away from her without her approval and put him up for adoption in the United States. For the next 50 years, she desperately searched for her son. When former BBC correspondent Martin Sixsmith (Steve Coogan) learns of the story, he becomes her ally and supporter on the journey of finding the long lost son. They travel together to America to find Anthony and become unexpectedly close friends in the process. Even though the movie is based on a sad, heartbreaking story it comes across as filled with love and positivity. It shows how important is focusing on the present.

My Thoughts on 'Endgame'
Couldn't keep away from this film forever, could we? So, Endgame, then. The fourth Avengers, after Joss Whedon's fan service exercise in the first Avengers, a studio mandated thing that had a pointless and pretentious subtext in a film ultimately about Easter eggs fighting robots, and The Russos' depressing ugly padding of Infinity War, which turned out to be two and a half hours of story that didn't seem to have an ounce of complexity to it or even much of an ending, adding up not being one of the MCU's strong points. Infinity War was, of course, the film that taught the world that gritty heroism and universe spanning tragedy have their places, and that place is not the same place as the place where Spider-Man fights an ugly mo-capped alien from kidnapping Sherlock. I know the MCU is aspiring to write stories with some complexity, and that audiences are insisting on selfishly trying to have fun must be very frustrating, but they kind of brought this on themselves when they decided that Thor being a fat guy would be a subversive masterclass on how to disappoint people on the best character for years to come.

30 Years of Nicolas Cage Memes in 'Vampire's Kiss'
30 years later and Vampire’s Kiss starring Nicolas Cage is as crazy and misunderstood as ever. Though it has lived on through endless memes, Vampire’s Kiss is far more than just a bonkers Nicolas Cage, rage-a-thon. In fact, Vampire’s Kiss may be one of the sneakiest works of genius in the last 30 years. Combining elements of Bram Stoker and The Twilight Zone with a hint of Hammer Films, Vampire’s Kiss combines these unique influences in a riveting, often hilarious, and never boring package.
