The Magical World of Classic Hollywood Cinema
I love cinema. I am convinced it is some ethereal being or something crafted by the gods. On many of my worst days, I have only been saved by a piece of art like poetry, novels, or film. But in particular, film has assisted me in dark moments. It has climbed the walls of my heart and opened me to new thoughts, emotions, and worlds. Ultimately, film has moved me deeply. For this list, I will be celebrating films according to the mood you want to be in. Since I have been deeply moved by cinema, I want you to be deeply moved as well.

10 Movie Recommendations For When The World is Crumbling
The pandemic left most of us with a pretty wide range of emotions. Fear, boredom, mourning, depression, joy, and anxiety are a few that come to mind. Those of us that were left jobless, working from home, or sick were left standing with a bunch of time slipping through our fingers. The pandemic has been a time we won’t get back and an excess of time many of us have never been granted before. Most of us live pretty hectic lives. Kids, jobs, marriages, social lives, just a handful of the many facets of our lives that keep our feet moving and our hands busy. I want to recognize that not all of us were left with ample amounts of time to kill in this pandemic. The essential workers that made the world go round continued to have their time and hearts full. This piece goes out to them, whatever small token it may be.

Finding that perfect movie or show can be a bit aggravating at times. Have you ever got on a platform like Netflix and just scan shows without selecting something to watch? That is me but add the zombie browsing to half an hour. What is the perfect formula to help me stop this zombie browsing and choose something to enjoy? A Drunken Ride
“Just close your eyes and pretend it’s all a bad dream. That’s how I get by.” - Captain Jack Sparrow If you’re looking for life advice, then Jack sparrow isn’t the one you should go to. Unless you’d like to end up having a drunk therapy session with him, which could end up helping or making your situation worse. The latter should be expected.

5 Arthouse Films that are Deeply Philosophical
The film has ended, the credits roll, and you sit amongst the crowed utterly speechless. Your thoughts are left to drift in a void of wonder, as you ruminate on the beauty to which you have just borne witness.

Movies are like burgers: how to pitch on the next one
Movies are like fast food burgers. Every film tastes different no matter they have the same ingredients. So run away from people who says: "oh, you loved Earthquake, then you must see San Andreas", because the first rule for movie lovers is: do not take suggestions based on plots or topics. And second rule: do not take suggestions based on what your friends like.

"Awakenings" (1990) featuring Robert De Niro
In the week leading up to Easter Sunday in 2020, I read "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow" by Washington Irving and watched four feature films: Sleepy Hollow (1999), The Ballad of Buster Scruggs (2018), Seven Years in Tibet (1997), and Awakenings (1990).

What's Under the Cowl?
I was born in 1997; an interesting time for comic book movies, to say the least. Batman and Robin was making waves and ruffling feathers, while Steel was doing its best to keep Shaq's film career alive. Superhero flicks were being released, and making enough money to keep the genre's head above water, but they weren't meant to be taken seriously. They were fun!
