Lucasfilm Gives Up 'Children Of Blood and Bone' Adaption To Paramount
The name Lucasfilm Ltd. will forever be associated with Star Wars. But during its 50 years of existence, the company has ventured into other areas from time to time, most notably, of course, the Indiana Jones franchise. Still, it is also responsible for movies like Willow, Labyrinth, the tragically underrated Howard the Duck, or, more recently, Red Tails, the film about the Tuskegee Airmen during World War II.

What I've Seen at the 2022 Slamdance Film Festival
The Slamdance Film Festival takes place in January every year as an alternative to the more mainstream and industry friendly Sundance Film Festival. Slamdance is the punk rock to the pop music of Sundance and that is reflected in the always eclectic lineup at Slamdance. For the first time in my career I am doing some virtual coverage at the Slamdance Film Festival and I have seen some good and some great new emerging artists as well as at least one long time artist who is following his muse to a place where mainstream audiences are unlikely to follow.

Doctor Strange 2: Tobey Maguire To Reprise Spider-Man In Benedict Cumberbatch Starrer?
Spider-Man: No Way Home has indeed managed to create a unique buzz that refuses to settle. Apart from Tom Holland and the many more members including Tobey Maguire & Andrew Garfield, Benedict Cumberbatch also went on to be one of the most pivotal parts of the movie. The actor will now reprise his Sorcerer in Doctor Strange And The Multiverse Of Madness. But did you really think there won’t be any effects of his Spider-Man presence on his story? Well, you were wrong and we are looking at a very big cameo.

The Matrix Resurrections
With today’s continual advancements in technology, including Mark Zuckerberg’s recent announcement of the ‘metaverse’, now seems an appropriate time to delve back into the exploration and questioning of simulated reality—both the possibilities and the philosophical dilemmas. And there’s no exploration of this topic more widely known or accessible as The Matrix.

Hallmark Married Couples Who Act Together in Same Movies
Most Hallmark movies are about love and romance. It is not unusual for a leading actor to fall in love with his co-star. Magic happens when the leading actor is married to his co-star in real life. Is it art imitating life, or is it life imitating art? It really is both.

Is Willy Wonka a villain?
After being told about the mysterious Willy Wonka and introduced to him, we get his first comeback of many to Veruca(played by Julia Winter). This sets the tone of his attitude to everyone especially the children, with the exception of Charlie (played by Freddie Highmore), for the remainder of the movie. This was the beginning of many red flags that were acknowledged as odd but not dangerous.

Willy Wonka is deeply troubled
Willy seems to be a very traumatized and hurt person. His employment of the Oompa Loompas from their dangerous homes could be seen as a good thing after their discussion and sealed deal. They get to be around more Cocoa beans which they adore and be safe from the harmful creatures that lived below. This could easily be a lie to tell the visitors but the Oompa Loompa's seem to be more of his friends that work than just workers. He has one that cuts his hair, one that listens to him as a therapist and he communicates freely with them. It could be said that they became his friends while living in isolation or they are his employed friends.

Breaking the Autistic Code: Tristan from The Lighthouse of the Whales (2016)
Disclaimer: I am not a licensed medical professional and this series is not about diagnosing the character(s) with Autism Spectrum Disorder. This series is a personal examination of the film/TV show's plot, the character's traits and personality and how they relate to me as an Autistic woman. I will also examine canonically Autistic Characters, so take my personal opinions as just that, a personal opinion. I would encourage my readers to seek out different perspectives on disability representation especially from BIPOC disabled creators who are often ignored in the disability discourse. I will also try to avoid giving away any spoilers for those who have not seen the film/TV show but if I have to give context for my arguments, this will be a likely occurrence so please be forewarned.

What to Watch Next if you LOVE Studio Ghibli's Spirited Away
I don’t know about you, but I vividly remember the first time I watched Spirited Away. It’s one of those life defining moments that is seared into your mind. Maybe you remember where you were for Y2K, or the third week of March 2020, my moment is watching Spirited Away for the first time. I was 10 years old, which just so happens to be the heroine Chihiro’s age. I had just moved cities. The film opens on Chihiro and her family moving towns.

The Rocky Horror Picture Show. Top Story - January 2022.
It’s hard to believe that The Rocky Horror Picture Show wasn’t an instant hit, when it was first released in cinemas in 1975. Considering its cult classic status now, it wasn’t met with a great response initially. The film was certainly ahead of its time. What with aliens cross-dressing, pre-marital sex, gay relationships, and a man in fishnets, who has made everyone question their sexuality at some point.
