Parker's Blues (Alien and the Nemesis)
Note: this was originally written in September of 2009... No chance getting it published then, so... It is a strange time to be a fan of horror films. After September 11th, the media informed us that the age of irony (in American life, as has to be said) was over and that films would have to deal with cold facts and unpleasant truths in a manner supposedly unseen in recent American films. The press was apparently referring to the brilliant slew of films which arose in the shadow of the Vietnam War, the civil rights movement, hippies, recreational drug use, cults, the counterculture and Watergate. After almost three years after the fact, 9/11 is still firmly rooted in the psyche of the west, yet our films have not followed suit. We still have the blockbusters like Spider-Man, Transformers, and Fantastic Four in crowded cineplexes and Hollywood is pursuing a business-as-usual path. This is not to ignore some of the great “small” films that have gained notice in the press, such as American Splendor, Lost in Translation, Thirteen, and Saved! which have their own particular means of truth-telling or authenticity. They capture the obsessive nature of a culture and the need to see oneself as one actually is: ordinary, lost and unsure of where we stand.

My Review of "Bill Burr: Live at Red Rocks"
Bill Burr: Live at Red Rocks is Bill Burr's latest Netflix exclusive special. It just dropped and as a huge Bill Burr fan I had to check it out. With everyone just coming back out again it's interesting to hear from all the comics. It's interesting to hear what's been going on and this feels like I'm catching up with an old buddy.

Movie Review- Thor: Love and Thunder
I went into Thor: Love and Thunder expecting a fun, lighthearted addition to the MCU with the classic Taika Watiti twist and, that's exactly what I got. Taika's silly style of storytelling and quirky comedy is extremely entertaining and left me laughing even after the movie was over.

The Young and the Restless: Sally is on to Adam's game plan
Adam tries to crush Sally A preview for The Young and the Restless for the week beginning July 18 is very telling. Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) is shouting at Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) trying to convince her that their relationship is over. Spoilers say he will go so far as to accuse her of being the reason that Victor Newman *Eric Braeden) removed him from the CEO position of the family business.

How Wes Craven's Scream reimagined the horror franchise.
HOW WES CRAVEN’S SCREAM REIMAGINED THE HORROR GENRE AS A WHOLE. Horror movies are influential in not only media but the way that we enjoy and experience life. People often say ‘Life imitates art which imitates life.’ Although a moderately redundant statement, It's always been evident that the statement is correct. For artists of all mediums (Including the cinema types) Inspiration can strike at just about anywhere in any moment- And yet there's always a catch; If you draw inspiration from the same place over and over again, Your pool of information dries up and in turn you lose inspiration because your thoughts have become stale, There's nothing to draw from.

Who in the Stars are they?
As odd as it may sound, I LOVE watching foreign films even though I don't know any other language but English. I happily read the subtitles. If I miss something or get behind on reading, because I am streaming, I can readily stop the film and read up.

Susan Henning the uncredited star of The Parent Trap
The Parent Trap had an unsung hero Susan Henning may not be a household name but the actress had a memorable role in a classic Disney film that many may not be aware of. She had no lines, no one saw her face, and she received no credit. Susan was hired specifically as a body double for Haley Mills who started in the 1961 hit movie The Parent Trap and Henning happily signed away all her rights.

The Magical World of Audio Dramas
Do you like listening to audio books? Do you like podcasts with multiple speakers and sound effects? What if I told you that there's a whole genre of audio art that merges these two forms together to make amazing masterpieces. They're called "audio dramas" - sometimes also called "radio plays" - and they are the love child of plays, novels, movies, and podcasts merged together.
