Spider Man: No way Home Review(Spoilers)

More Surprises than a Warm Christmas Night.

Tom Holland in Spiderman No Way Home.

Hollywood's worst kept secret.

I'm a massive Spider man fan and I have had so much fond memories of not only the Tobey Maguire Movies but also of the Andrew Garfield movies.

What I did not like however was how confusing it made it to keep up with all the different continuities and universes and all that for the general audience. I hated how they couldn't just stick with the first one they made and keep on making that one franchise.

I was extremely disheartened when the Maguire era ended then even more disheartened when the Garfield era ended. However as I grew older I finally understood how studio rights and reboots work. So I grew numb to the whole reboot scenario and I was ready to accept the new version set in The MCU alongside Captain America, Iron Man, etc.

I immensely enjoyed Homecoming( and I still do). I think it's a very cute and charming movie that stands as one of the MCU's best. I also enjoyed Far from Home a lot but with repeated viewings I started to like it less and less to be honest. It didn't have the charm of the first one( well not to the same extent ) and it lacked a certain sense of......URGENCY or importance. It's ending did leave me extremely excited for the future but other than that......ehh not a fan to be honest.

So understand Where I'm coming from when I say That Spider Man No Way Home is easily the best MCU Spider Man movie to date. Is it better than any of the raimi or Webb films? It's hard to say as of right now where I've only seen this movie once but it's certainly comparable to the Marc Webb films in my opinion. It has the heart, the Humor, The action and the compassion That I expect from a Spider Man film. Tom Holland gives his best performance as Spider Man in the MCU as of yet and everyone else ranging from Benedict Cumberbatch as Doctor Strange to all the returning villains are played wonderfully by their respectful actors.

As a long time Spider Man seeing all of these villains in the same room invokes a sense of joy I thought I lost years ago. It's the same child like wonder many of us experienced back in 2012 when the avengers first assembled. Add to that the way the villains were brought in and how none of them got retconned or changed so as to defeat the purpose of their character in the original is extremely impressive. Now not all villlains receive the same treatment. William Defoe's Green Goblin certainly gets the most amount of time to shine whereas with Villains like Sandman and Lizard being mostly relegated to a third act battle. I'm also not entirely huge on how Electro just got a massive redesign without much explaination. I get that a lot of people didn't really enjoy his original Blue design but.....didn't a lot of people also have issues with How Goblin looked in the original? And while Defoe's goblin does get a redesign it's only after he comes to The MCU with his original look. So....that's weird.

The action is once again fantastic as per MCU standards with particular praise to that amazing Doctor Strange VS Peter fight.

Now Let's talk about the biggest rumor, speculation and discussed point of this movie that absolutely no one involved in its making were ready to deny or accept.

Tobey and Andrew.

I'm happy to report that they are 100% in the movie.

And you bet your couch that I screamed like a baby when I saw them both.

And I'm also happy to say they aren't just characters That show up and make the audience say "Cool."

No I think they were very well utilised and had a genuinely good reason to be here. It helps that these versions of Peter are much older and experienced and Can thus help this new Peter to come to grips with things like dealing with Grief and how it's all a part of the Spider Man journey.

Something I've felt sorely missing in the MCU Spider Man Movies is a real big Peter Parker Heartbreak moment. There were certainly moments where something bad happened to Pete but they weren't.....like the other movies you know?

But with the death of Aunt May we get THAT moment and it's that moment that I think truly makes this movie raise far above the other two MCU Spider Man Movies. It's excellently handled and I think the ending is also another great Peter Parker Heartbreak moment. I'm certainly intrigued to see how the future movies follow up on this ending which I thought was so well done that it could have come from any classic Comic book storyline.

This movie has surprised me in more ways than one. I've also seen tons of MCU Spiderman Opposers give this movie a ton of praise and that's a sign that Marvel Studios aren't just making this to make a quick buck. But rather out of Genuine Passion and Love for the characters.

I give Spider Man No Way Home A 9 out of 10.
