Characters who are recast on daytime drama shows are usually not popular with the fans or the news media. They are usually compared to their predecessors and held to higher standards of performance. Only a very few make the roles their own and win over a majority of the viewing audience. Reylnn Recastner is breaking out of that mold now that she has been cast as Faith Newman on The Young and the Restless. Viewers as well as soap spoilers agree that she is the ideal choice to replace Alyvia Lind who had the role for a decade.

Faith Newman is the daughter of Nick and Sharon and 13 year old Alyvia Lind had the role of Victor Newman's youngest granddaughter since 2011 when she was only 4 years old. She grew up portraying Faith and many viewers could not even imagine someone else attempting to play Nick and Sharon's daughter. When it was announced that Lind was leaving The Young and the Reylynn Recastner is a hit with those who watch the CBS daytime drama as well as those who write breaking news and spoilers about what goes on in Geona City.

Soap Hub recently addressed this issue and had nothing but praise for the 18 year old. Some fans believe her age is a plus and will allow for Faith to engage in storylines that are for an older teen. Alyvia Lind walked away from her Y&R character to join the cast of the horror series Chucky. Some fans pointed out that The Young and the Restless was a sure thing, but every actor and actress has the right to spread their wings and take on other roles.

At 13, Lind is still young and finding her way in the world of entertainment. It's understandable that she does not want to be tied down to or typecast by one character. The talented actress received rave reviews when she portrayed a young Loretta Lynn in two made for television movies about the country entertainer's early years. Those who enjoyed her performance could see that this girl destined for success. It just so happens that she has chosen to move on from the role that made her famous and that is to be expected.

Soap Hub says of Lind's replacement that her performance as Faith is understated and "allows viewers to feel her sorrow and embarrassment over Faith’s reckless acts". The spoiler also points out that Recastner gave viewers a taste of her "forceful side" when as Faith she rejected Jordan’s apology for pretending to be her friend and bullying. Faith told her tormentor to “shove it” in a bold and confident manner. This may be due to Raylynn's maturity and truthfully Alyvia Lind may not have been able to convey the same message.

There is also the fact that Jacob Aaron Gaines who portrays Moses Winters is said to be around 18 years of age. Although it's only acting he seems to be a better fit with Castner who is closer in age than Lind who will turn 14 later this year. Reylynn Recastner is making the role her own and not attempting to imitate her predecessor. It helps that she has blonde hair and actually looks like Lind as she might if she were a few years older.

Sometimes it takes a while for recasts to grow on viewers and there also have been occasions where a replacement did not work and was let go. In the case of Faith Newman, the majority seems to believe that Alyvia Lind's season on The Young and the Restless is over and that now is Reylynn Recastner's time to shine in Genoa City. Best of luck to both young women in their new roles.
