Pottel Movie OTT Review: A Casteism Drama That Tries to Do More

A movie coming on Amazon Prime and a police raid happening all of a sudden, we get to know about it from the news only.

Yes, guys, once again, Amazon Prime silently brought the Hindi dubbed version of its movie Pottel in a flash, but I didn't know about it; I got to know about it only when someone told me.

But does this movie deserve your time or not, let's find out.

Pottel Movie Review

Now, if I quickly talk about the story, the story of Pottel is set in the time era of the 1970s, where you get to see the structure of lower caste and upper caste.

This movie of two hours twenty-six minutes has been released in Hindi dubbed on Amazon Prime.

And now if I review it for you in one line, I would say it's a good movie.

Look, I am not saying it's a masterpiece, but it's a good movie because if you look, so many movies have been made on casteism in the Tamil industry that it is like coriander inside a vegetable.

I mean, in the same way that we remove coriander from vegetables, the Tamil industry has made many movies on casteism, but Pottel is not coriander, this movie is about salt, that salt which enhances the taste.

The movies of this type that we have seen before have shown how big a problem casteism is, but what is the solution to that problem? You get to see it in very limited movies; that answer has been given here.

If casteism is a very strong wall, then education, whatever it may be, is needed to break this wall.

Yes, education is the key, so you get to see things related to this.

Our character is trying to educate his daughter so that she can move ahead of all these things, you get to see all these things here.

Emotions are very strong; many emotional scenes completely make your eyes moist.

I liked the old-time setting; I'm really impressed.

BGM is okay.

And the songs also seem to be of okay kind.

Everyone has done their job well in acting.

This movie is two hours and twenty-six minutes, and after watching it, I felt that twenty-six minutes were extra somewhere; the story could have been told well in two hours, too.

Apart from this, in some places, this movie will remind you of Ekta Kapoor's melodramatic serials in the quest of being extra emotional because this movie reaches that zone, that is, Dhoom Tana Dhoom Tana Dhoom Tana Dhoom Tana, it reaches that zone.

If I talk about parental guidance, then there is no nudity in the movie.

The Hindi dubbing is good, whenever the songs are dubbed in Hindi, I don't like them that much, so I found this shortcoming here as well.

Besides this, the character that gets possessed had extremely poor dubbing.
