Port Charles residents react to the news of Monica's death on General Hospital
This week Jason finds his mother deceased and a new chapter begins.

Finally, Monica will be declared dead
General Hospital spoilers are finally revealing that the death of Monica Quartermaine will be announced. Her portrayer, Leslie Charlson, passed away in January. Fans have been complaining that it was taking too long to address the demise of the beloved character.
Now, the reactions of the Quartermaine family and others are being addressed. GH Executive producer Frank Valentini has not discussed Charelson's death except to say he was in frequent contact with her before she died.
Allegedly, according to the rumor mill, on September 17, Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) will find his adopted mother deceased in her bedroom. Some fans will feel a sense of relief because Monica has been in the bedroom for months, and they desire closure.
Jason was adopted by Monica
Jason's dad, Alan Quartermaine (Stuart Damon), had an affair with Susan Moore (Gail Ramsey), who died. His wife, Monica, decided to raise the child as her own. It was later discovered that Susan had twins, which is how Jason and Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) became brothers.
Monica's natural son, AJ (Alan Junior) Quartermaine (Sean Kanan) was shot and killed by Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) because Ava Jerome (Maura West) lied that AJ was attacking her. AJ's son Michael Corinthos (Roty Gibson), and his children are Monica's only true blood heirs.
The house that Alan gave Monica
Spoilers say Jason will tell Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot) that her sister-in-law has died, and the two will grieve together. GH viewers are wondering if Monica will leave the house to her sister-in-law.
She loved to tell Tracy that Alan had given it to her, and she once put Tracy and her parents Edward Quartermaine (John Ingle) and Lila Quartermaine (Anna Lee) out of the home.
Monica enjoyed telling anyone who would listen that the house was hers because Alan gave it to her. Violet Finn (Jophielle) Love repeated this often-used phrase just before she left Port Charles to live with her father, Hamilton Finn ( Michael Easton).
Many Port Charles residents will mourn Monica
Danny Morgan ( Asher Antonyzyn) and Rocco Falconeri (Finn Carr) will be affected because they lived as brothers in the Q home. Ned Quartermaine(Wally Kurth) and Olivia Quartermaine have not been seen in a while, but they should be on-screen once they get the news that Monica died.
Michael will be devastated, but will the news of his grandmother's death be enough to stop his uncle Drew from trying to frame him for murder? As the news spreads, Elizabeth Webber (Rebecca Herbst) will inform Drew, who should have conflicting emotions since Monica forbade him from being on the property.
Cody Bell (Josh Kelly) will react strongly, and he will be there for Tracy and Brooke Lynn Quartermaine Chase (Amanda Setton). Gio Palamieri (Giovanni Maza) and Emma Scorpio Drake (Braedyn Bruener) are going to react strongly to a situation this week. They will receive bad news, but will it be about their missing dog, Outback, Monica's death, or something different?
A new chapter begins
Erica Sleazak will arrive in Port Charles soon, and it is believed she may be Monica's sister. Her backstory is unclear, and fans wonder how her presence will affect those in the Q home. Could she have a claim to her sibling's estate and could the Quartermaine clan find themselves fighting for the family home?
Be sure to tune in to General Hospital this week to learn how Monica's death is announced, and how it affects her family and others in Port Charles.
Life at the Quartermaine mansion has revolved around the unseen Monica for abotu a year. A new chapter now begins that will be vastly different. Stay tuned to General Hospital to learn how this all plays out.
