WWE SummerSlam 2025: My Predictions
You ever get that feeling in your gut, the same one you had when Austin looked Vince dead in the eyes in '98 or when Foley got thrown off the Cell? That feeling that something real is about to happen? That’s exactly where I’m at heading into this two-night SummerSlam madness. WWE’s gone full-throttle with a card stacked across both nights. We’ve got old-school storytelling, fresh faces, celebrity chaos, and championship clashes that could redefine the landscape heading into 2026.
I won’t lie—some of these builds were hotter than a bottle rocket in July. Others felt like they were thrown together like the third hour of Raw. But that’s what makes it fun, right? You gotta shift through the chaos to see the real brilliance in the madness. That’s what us fans live for.
So, here’s my full match-by-match breakdown, predictions, and a little speculation straight from the sheets, written like you’re sitting across the couch from me in a busted recliner, arguing over who really should go over. Lets mark out.
NIGHT ONE – August 2nd
Tiffany Stratton (c) vs. Jade Cargill – WWE Women’s Championship

This match might have the weakest build of the whole weekend. I get it—Jade won Queen of the Ring, and Tiffany’s got the title, but there’s no heat, no tension, no emotional investment. Still, I’m glad they’re showcasing new talent and refreshing the division, because let’s be real—it's long overdue. Personally, I would’ve rather seen Naomi and Jade collide with something to really chew on. I’m a sucker for long-term storytelling, and this just didn’t get the right simmer. That said, it’s going to be a physical showdown and maybe a surprise banger. I’ve got Tiffany Stratton retaining in a hard-fought win.
Randy Orton & Jelly Roll vs. Drew McIntyre & Logan Paul – Tag Team Match

Listen—I didn’t think I’d be this invested, but here we are. This thing has been cooking. Jelly Roll’s charisma is off the charts, and Logan Paul continues to be a lightning rod whether you love him or hate him. What’s fascinating is how the wrestlers are playing bodyguard for their celeb counterparts, yet somehow the celebs are stealing the show. Orton’s been playing it cool, watching everything unfold, while Drew’s been that ticking time bomb.
This match could go either way. On one hand, the crowd will go nuts if Orton and Jelly Roll stand tall. On the other, Logan and Drew winning could catapult them into serious post-SummerSlam momentum. But I’m going with the babyfaces—Orton and Jelly Roll pick up the win, sending fans home grinning. Expect Logan to take the fall here—it’s good business, and it protects Drew for future title contention.
Gunther (c) vs. CM Punk – World Heavyweight Championship

This is the one. The big fight feel. Punk wants the top prize, but Gunther is the immovable object, the king of consistency. There’s no cheap drama here—just pure legacy on the line. Gunther’s been unstoppable, but Punk’s mind games and big-match IQ are unmatched.
Now, what if... what if Seth Rollins pulls the biggest work of the year? He’s holding that briefcase, supposedly injured, and this whole thing could be a setup. I predict CM Punk wins after a brutal, near 30-minute war—and then Rollins cashes in. Maybe it fails. Maybe it connects. Either way, this match will be a rollercoaster.
Judgment Day (Raquel Rodriguez & Roxanne Perez) (c) vs. Charlotte Flair & Alexa Bliss – Women’s Tag Titles

It’s refreshing to see Charlotte actually having fun out there. Bliss too—this feels like a redemption run for both of them. Raquel and Roxanne are the glue of this division right now, despite the lingering shadow of Liv Morgan.
If Liv returns to cause chaos, maybe Flair and Bliss steal the win. But without that curveball, I see Raquel and Perez retaining in a strong showing. It’s been subtle, but Roxanne and Raquel are clicking more and more each week.
Roman Reigns & Jey Uso vs. Bron Breakker & Bronson Reed (w/ Paul Heyman)

This tag match is a brilliant way to extend the Reigns/Uso saga without burning out the audience. Adding Breakker and Reed to the mix gives it freshness, and gives them a massive spotlight. Reed being tied to Heyman already raises eyebrows. But when it comes to main events, few have the aura of Roman and Jey. This’ll be a war. I predict Roman and Jey walk away victorious after a match that puts Breakker over in defeat.
Sami Zayn vs. Karrion Kross (w/ Scarlett)

This one is chef’s kiss for long-term booking fans like me. Sami is slowly unraveling, and Kross is the perfect monster to push him there. The seeds for a Zayn heel turn are fully planted. I predict Kross wins—and Sami finally loses control, cementing his dark transformation.
NIGHT TWO – August 3rd
John Cena (c) vs. Cody Rhodes Street Fight for the Undisputed WWE Championship

This was destiny. Cena’s historic 17th title win was the swan song, and now it’s time for business. Cody never really finished the story—he paused it. And now, he’s picking the pen back up. Cena’s presence gave Cody a new mountain to climb, and this match is going to be gritty, violent, and emotional. But here's the twist—don’t be shocked if we see a double turn. Rhodes has been showing flashes of desperation lately. I think Cody uses underhanded tactics and shockingly beats Cena at his own game. I’m calling it now—Cody Rhodes becomes a two-time WWE Champion.
Naomi (c) vs. Rhea Ripley vs. Iyo Sky – Women’s World Championship

Naomi’s been one of the best stories of the year, period. The new gimmick, the fire, the title reign—it all works. Rhea and Iyo had their time, and they’ll get more, but this is Naomi’s era right now. I WANT her to win. I NEED her to win. So yes—I predict Naomi retains.
Becky Lynch (c) vs. Lyra Valkyria – No DQ/No Countout – Women’s IC

Becky has done wonders for Lyra, plain and simple. This feud gave Lyra that extra edge she needed, and her growth has been noticeable. The division feels stable because of this rivalry. But Lynch isn’t ready to pass the torch just yet. I predict she retains again, and the belt continues to gain prestige.
Solo Sikoa (c) vs. Jacob Fatu – Steel Cage Match – U.S. Championship

This will be violent. This will be ugly. This will be personal. Solo retains, but not without major help from MFT. I’m also predicting a new Bloodline member debuts—could be a wild card for either side. Cage matches always promise a war, and this one will be no different.
Dominik Mysterio (c) vs. AJ Styles – Intercontinental Championship

This feud has been hilarious and chaotic in the best ways. Dom hiding behind fake doctor’s notes and AJ stalking him like a grizzled vet—perfect balance of drama and comedy. AJ is due for a resurgence, and this is the stage to kickstart it. I think we’re getting a title change here. AJ Styles wins and becomes IC Champion. Dom’s been solid, but it’s time for a fresh dynamic. Expect this one to continue through September.
Six-Pack TLC Match – WWE Tag Team Championship The Wyatt Sicks (Dexter Lumis & Joe Gacy) (c) vs. Andrade & Rey Fénix vs. #DIY vs. Fraxiom vs. Motor City Machine Guns vs. Street Profits

This is your classic match of the night candidate—guaranteed chaos. Six teams with real stakes and real history. I honestly can’t call just one winner, so I’ll give two predictions: either The Street Profits reclaim their spot at the top of the SmackDown tag scene, or #DIY grabs the gold to begin a 3rd reign. All the other teams will absolutely deliver, but for long-term storylines and division reshuffling—these are the two that make the most sense.
SummerSlam is once again proving to be the big reset button WWE needs. From celebrity crossovers to returning legends to breakout stars getting their moment—this card is a buffet for every type of fan. Whether you’re into layered storytelling or just want pure wrestling chaos, both nights bring something special.
For me, this feels like the most unpredictable SummerSlam in years. I’m sticking my neck out on a few of these picks, but that’s what makes it exciting. You’ve got to trust your gut, follow the momentum, and always look at who needs the win more than who deserves it.
Let me know what you think. Hit me with your predictions, your hot takes, and your fantasy bookings—because if you’re not talking wrestling with passion, what are you even doing? See you at SummerSlam.
