Goodbye Doctor - Hello Doctor
Warning: the following article contains a few spoilers. Duh. So on Christmas day, we saw the new Doctor Who, and quite good she seemed to be, too. Honestly, that’s all I’m going to say about the whole gender thing, for one reason: I don’t care about it. Not a jot. Male, female, unicorn or dolphin, I just don’t care. What I care about are the scripts the main actor gets landed with.

'Blade Runner': A Review
Blade Runner was one of those movies that, for me, existed on my periphery for as long as I can remember but for one reason or another never actually got round to watching. Whenever the film was mentioned by someone else, they would always talk about how great it was, but from the small clips I had seen, I just wasn't massively drawn to it as I probably should have been. That is, until the other night.

Movie Review: 'The Post'
The Post is an of-the-moment history lesson about the important role of the media in America. Steven Speilberg has made arguably the most relevant movie of our political moment, given the way that President Trump has made attacking the media a staple of his public discourse. Casting two of America’s most beloved and respected actors in the lead roles only deepens the importance of The Post.

Mind Control
Watching TV is a favorite past time for many people. Studies show that the average adult watches more than 4 hours of television per day. While so much time is spent viewing television programs, much less time is spent reading; although reading is much more beneficial to the health of your brain. Studies show that while watching TV, your brain switches over from the left side to the right side. The right side of the brain is primarily a source of emotional responses, whereas the left side controls intellectual responses. When you read, your brain is exercising the left side of your brain, which is used for logic, reasoning, creative thinking and language.

Stan Lee Showed up on 'Jeopardy' to Give Clues About Himself
You all know him, you all love him, and even if you don't know and love him, his face is bound to be familiar. You see, if you've seen at least one Marvel movie over the last ten years, you will have seen Stan Lee's face pop up at some point or another. The Marvel legend himself, the guy who perhaps embodies comicbook nerddom is literally everywhere, and all the while being one of the nicest guys on the planet.

'Bright': A Review
A Netflix continues its meteoric rise, they expand their range of TV shows and movies in an effort to put their own permanent stamp on the entertainment world. Enter: Bright. This is Netflix's first big-budget movie coming in at costing the company $90 million to make. It was a big gamble for the company, and if the critics are to be believed, then the gamble has failed to pay off. But you know what? 11 million viewers in its first three days tells a very different story of a movie that, despite being panned by the "professional" critics, is still able to draw in a huge viewership. In fact, the story is also very different when you consider the professional critics rating vs the ratings from the fans. Review aggregate, Rotten Tomatoes has Bright sat at 29 percent approval from professional reviewers, while it's sat at 80 percent approval from regular fans. I have to say, I'm very much with the fans on this one.

'Harry Potter' Theory: Did Harry Find the Room of Requirement in His First Year?
Pop quiz! When did we first see the Room of Requirement in Harry Potter? The obvious answer is in The Order of the Phoenix, because that is when they first used it as a classroom for Dumbledore's Army.

Casting the MCU’s Fantastic Four
So last time I put my thoughts together on who should play the MCU’s Sinister Six, and as we know Disney has recently acquired the rights to Fox. Which as a comic book nerd made me very giddy as we all know which comic book characters fox owned. The Xmen and The Fantastic Four. (Not to mention a certain pool of dead as well.)

Disability and 'The Greatest Showman'
After six years, we finally have another Hugh Jackman musical. Yes, you read that right. Six years have passed since the 2011 release of the film version of the popular musical Les Miserables, starring Hugh Jackman. Now, to close this weird, slightly disastrous, and tiring year we can all sit back, relax, and watch Hugh sing and dance us all into the new year.

'Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle'—The Surprisingly Awesome Character That Was Bethany
Now I have to say, as films go, I thoroughly enjoyed this one. I was gratefully surprised. Not being a computer game fan or even fan of the first film, I went along purely for my brother’s sake. It is one of those occasions where I’m pleased I decided to go with company over seeing Pitch Perfect 3 on my own (a film that I am yet to see).

Why Frozen Should Melt
This is the worst Disney movie to come out of the studio since Home on the Range in 2004. Disney had a nine-year run of good movies. Enter Frozen=Crap. But people LOVE it! They can't get enough of it. Why? Beats me. Tangled and Brave—two other princess movies that proceeded Frozen—were a million times better! So, where did Frozen go wrong?
