The Wrath of the Masses
While reading a chapter of Excursions in World Music (2017) that was assigned for my music in world cultures class, I stumbled upon a sentence that struck me as a self-contradictory truth about Western, and more specifically North American, culture:

Explaining Why Hela Was So O.P. in 'Thor: Ragnarok'
Thor: Ragnarok surprised us all this fall due to basically how underwhelming the last two Thor films were. I know, the first one wasn't that bad, but at the same time, it really wasn't that good either. So, the people at Marvel Studios decided to use Jason Aaron and Esad Ribic's God of Thunder as inspiration; along with a few other stories from the past. And Marvel delivered one of their finest movies to date with Ragnarok.

Sirius Black: The Man and the Myth
No series of books has impacted me more as a writer than the Harry Potter series. From the moment I first immersed myself in J.K. Rowling’s world of magic at eight years old, I’ve been captivated by it. By the end of my junior year of high school, I’d read the series six times—forwards, backwards, and out of order; within anywhere from the duration of a week to the duration of a year. I can therefore firmly say, as I look back wistfully but realistically on my nine-year obsession with the series, that I am unbiased—or at least as unbiased as a Slytherin whose Hogwarts letter is nearly nine years late can be.

'Games Of Thrones': 10 Essential Reunions At Winterfell We'd Like To See In Season 8
At the end of Games of Thrones Season 7, we see Jon Snow, Daenerys Targaryen, and their various armies of supporters making their way up north to Winterfell by land and by sea, just as the Night King and a resurrected Viserion blast The Wall down into crumbles.Considering how fast travelling time was in Season 7, it won't take long for the Night King and his hordes of the living dead to reach Winterfell at the start of the HBO fantasy series' next and final season. Despite only having six episodes (each reportedly 80-90 minutes long), we reckoned there would still be time for some intriguing meet-ups between key characters who are already at or arriving soon at House Stark's ancestral home before The Great War begins.

Don’t Believe Everything You Read
I can see it now. “You LOVED ‘The Last Jedi.’ How can we possibly take you seriously?" Well... Firstly, I stand by my review of the latest in the Star Wars saga, which I’ve seen five times to date and consider easily the finest film in the series since Empire. Don’t argue with me about Luke’s journey not befitting his character. One can easily argue that Ben Kenobi’s extended sojourn in Tatooine was a result of his becoming reclusive and really not watching over Luke, and we can say the same about Yoda on Dagobah. The characters stretched in Jedi, and we received the unexpected.

Is Holden Caulfield Still Relevant?
For Christmas, I received, among other gifts, a red hunting hat—something that fans of J.D. Salinger’s novel The Catcher in the Rye recognize as a symbol of youthful rebellion and the reluctance to grow up. Salinger’s book has been pivotal in my own life, but the hat—which I’ve been wearing religiously—has raised some serious questions in my mind about the book’s continued relevance in modern society.
